What is worse telling the Truth or telling a Lie?
Lying is the same of postponing the inevitable: the truth. Lying is just
accommodation of the events on the ears of the listener. The truth could set up wars but could solve a variety of problems too, it is a matter of momentum.
Remember intelligence is a factor of preponderating the truth. Imagine betrayal: you cannot tell her about it or she will kill you, but if you say you are feeling awkward one, then you say you don't feel the same any more, then you say you are considering of leaving her because the future of you both is not clear for you, but you will give some time for you both to think, and then, 1 or 2 months later you say you like someone else and wants to break up, maybe telling her at this moment that you have already kissed the girl might be acceptable for her ears, instead of telling her at the right moment you kissed the girl and betrayed her.
So, it's a matter of momentum. Lie and truth are in the same boat, in the unforetold sea of life: you judge the right momentum. Just make you choice wisely.

Lying, is like rolling a snow ball from atop of ice mountain. it willl roll up into a bigger one, or even an avalanche.
Truth, is more like a medicine or vitamin you drink. at some point, it would do your body a good cause. but at other point, an excessive use of it would be bad for your health.
from my point of view, I prefer the second one. it doesn't matter wether i can handle that truth or not. maybe, it just my urge that i just need to kow .. .

The truth has always plagued me ^^; white lies are everywhere, they are part of daily conversation. In a way I think some lies are better than the truth since really they're just to protect the people you care about from... well, yourself or themselves. Its complicated, but i guess that's just the way life goes.
I for one sure as hell don't take kindly to anyone criticizing my work XD which is a bad feature in me but yea... I can't handle the truth! :P

I'd say there are different types of truths and lies. What matters is that the person lying or telling the truth should know of what they're saying is appropriate? Cuz if it's the painful truth, I'd like people to tell me what it is exactly, but break it down in smaller bites so that I'd be able to take it in better. Some people find the truth too much they commit suicide though...
Too many words. I'll just end it saying, sometimes, It's all about the way it's been said.TwT Word Manipulation!

It depends on the situation..haha XD What if the person had a heart problem.. lol but maybe that's a rare situation. hehe Anyway.. I think what you did was right, it's much better to tell the truth than to tell a complete lie because sometimes what we say may be nothing to us but it may mean a lot to another person. People may think you're heartless but at least they'll think about what you said. If they're not stupid people who think there's nothing wrong with their personality then maybe they'll reflect about that and think that maybe they do have certain faults and they need to change. I try to be an honest person especially to my friends because hurtful but honest words often have greater impact than kind but untruthful words. Even if it was me, I'd rather hear the truth than hear lies because it hurts more to be disappointed than to be given an honest response immediately.

In my opinion, neither is really "better" or "worse" than the other. Personally, I find that maintaining truth is easier simply because it is more convenient to deal with situations honestly. For me, lying isn't so much a question of ethics (I will do so without qualms when the situation calls for it), but rather a question of "if I'm caught lying, is it worth the consequences." But of course, telling the truth can have its consequences (positive and negative) as well..
Neither is worse, it's just that, given a situation, one is an easier choice than the other.

Lieing is usually the worst of the two choices simply because when you never lie you never have to check yourself or worry about deceiving/convincing someone. To gain the reputation of a liar means more then likely you will always have to be one step ahead of inquiring minds in order to be trusted. to be known as a honest person means to simply tell the truth and be accepted. So for me to tell the truth is the better choice.
If you can handle the damage you'll do to others by telling the truth, is better to being honest. If you cannot, is preferable not saying anything rather than lying.
In all honesty I don't believe in lying to someone to "protect" them emotionally. Nine times out of ten you'll only end up doing more damage to them than you would have if you had just told the truth in the first place. The thing about the truth is that it has a really bad habit of rearing its head eventually and when it does not only will the person have to deal with it, but also with the realization that you had been lying to them the entire time.
In my opinion if you don't think someone can handle the truth or if you simply just don't want to be the one to break it to them it's best not to say anything at all. Even for seemingly trivial things, like if they ask for your opinion on their singing voice, you shouldn't comment. After all lying could lead to them doing something stupid like trying out for something like American Idol (or something smaller) and being embarrassed in front of a large group of people.

Truth is good and ideally everyone should stick to it. But living as we do, we sometimes feel the need to hide it for the fear of hurting our loved ones. "Life is Beautiful" comes to my mind as I write this. How a father's lies help his little son survive Nazi camp. There are such examples in real life also where lies help people to sail through bad times...
Then, there are people whose intentions in telling lies are not so noble. Mostly common people tell lies to appear better than they actually are, in the eyes of others. So long as there is a grain of truth and the rest is embellishment (as, in a person's resume') it may not hurt much. A little creativity here and there may even make it interesting...
The worst are habitual liars. Those who simply cannot speak the truth and are out to deceive people and take advantage of their naivete for their personal gains are despicable offenders. Finally, I feel one should have the courage to speak the truth to keep one's conscience clean...(a little harmless lie here and there is allowed).

In a way, the truth and lie can be the worst of all. The truth is like a very sharp fragment of reality. Reality can be a backstabber at times and at the same time, it can still tell the truth. Therefore, we are unable to accept the truth, but at the same time, we have to accept that truth wither we like it or not.
A lie is like a thick poisonous fog, covering up the painful truth of reality. If you go threw this fog without knowing wither it was a lie or the truth, you'll be sent back into reality with a scathed wound in your heart or soul (but it depends on the type of situation you have at the meantime).
Overall, the truth or lie can be the worst in a lot of ways, possible.

Telling the Truth is always the best, even if you're considered a jerk for doing it. Eventually, if you always do it, people will know you're not lying or trying to be as disagreable as you sound. If they stick around, they'll know you do it out of respect for the other, not out of spite.
Mind you, only those who consider Truth something important will learn that. The rest of the world will just leave you and keep on living in their fantasy world, deceiving themselves about what they want to be, and those you can't help. Truth can be many different things for people depending on how much courage they have to look at their lives and accept them for what they are.
In any kind of decent position or practice, Truth will always be considered of the utmost importance to climb positions. Of course, if you're a good liar, you can be a very good lawer. Who needs the truth when you can make more money?

"Truth is never beautiful, nor beautiful words it." -Lao tse
I always tell the truth, and at the same time tell a white lie. But I can't lie about certain situations wherein it's inevitable to tell the truth. And most of the truth I tell really hurts them
but at the same time it will set them free.
There're also situations where I can't tell the truth, but I won't lie either. I would just give them a smile I-know-something-and-I'm-not-telling-you impression.
