How do you find inspiration for your wallpapers ?

So I was wondering, how do you find ideas for creating wallpapers ?
Do you look at the work of others ?
Paintings ? Photographs ? Other forms of digital art (deviantart.com, etc.) ?
Or maybe you browse the scans, fall in love with one and BANG! ideas start coming (you're lucky) ?
Also, do you feel that your ability to find interesting ideas is increasing as time goes by and you get more experience ?
Please tell the world about it...

Generally Ideas come when I'm reading mangas or watching animes… Anyway there's much times I'm disgusted about not succeed in "walling" my idea!=S

Usually, i got ideas while taking screenshots or watching anime;
but sometimes, an idea can come while watching another wallpaper and thinking, i would have done another thing like ... with this image ...

Personally... i am practicing some of the walls from this site... then i dont do anything with them because they are another persons style.. but after i learn the basics ... i will be really awsome at them after that.

When i watch anime or find a nice scan i get the most ideas for new wallpaper~ but also while talking with friends sometimes i get some feelings that i want to express in a wallpaper. ^o^
I know a famous artist that got drunk all the time... my HS friends used drugs... ^__^ it helped increase creativity... seriously...
other than that, you just have to look around more and change you environment more, clear your head, and dive right into the next thing... ^__^

Well...for me...I get them whiel sleeping,daydreaming,watching anime and some stuff that I do while thinking of someone...hahaha...

Usually I get ideas from scans. When I see a pretty one that I'd want to do something with I start thinking if I could do something interesting with it. Or sometimes scans give me ideas of their own.
Hmmm I'd say ideas come to me.. but not really that often, when I see a scan, I open PS, then start experimenting.. I might repeat 2 or 3 times but then I think I'm happy with MOST of the results. XD Though sometimes I look at other's wallpapers and such, probably some youtube videos and such. :) but most of all, I just experiment.

I get some inspiration by watching other wallpapers and pictures + I got my own talents of lissening to what they say on the radio and then think out something similuar to what they are talking on on the radio or something. Maybe some brainstorming growing thoughts during work hehe :).
Usually, when I see a scan that I like, I want to turn it into a wallpaper for my desktop. And since there are tons of pictures around, it's always easy to find good stock images. The backgrounds, on the other hand, are always hard to do, since I haven't really gotten the hang on this stuff. So most of the time I just stick with basic / abstract shapes, vectored doodles, brushes and filters. I've been experimenting with scenic backgrounds for a while now, but so far I'm hardly pleased with the outcomes... I guess I'll just have to try harder. After all, practice makes perfect, right? :)

Seeing a scan, I believe... Honestly I haven't considered it till now; Nevertheless whenever I look at a scan I really like, I almost certainly get the inspired. It 's an impulse for me after all;

Well,i usually get an idea when i see a specific scan, but sometimes, it's a song i hear on the radio and i suddenly get inspired (ah, those lucky but so rare moments XD).
also, when i look at some photo, i think to myself "wow, ___ would look great on this background!"
but mostly, it's all about scans... ^^

Although no one could call me a top-notch waller, I mostly get my inspiration from browsing through scans. If the scan looks cool and doesn't look as though it would need much fixing, I usually go for it. Otherwise, I pick images from my favourite series. I can usually capture the spirit better that way.

Well i'm kinda new to walling...and i never managed to make a wall using my imagination (no skills).Usually I browse through the scans gallery and take some of the pics i like...but they almost never become part of my walls...have i mentioned i rarely finish a wall?I always get bored when it comes to backgrounds.As a matter of fact most of my ides come from unusual forms of art (commercials,site banners,juice bottles,perfume boxes..etc.) look around you...you might find somthing useful! :))))
