Hm, I'm not expert here yet, but I do know a few tips to finish up a wallpaper. Some of the red bg behind the characters looks like it has jagged/messy edges, which is inconsistent with the rest of the wall and characters that have really clean lines. and I'm not sure but, don't most pc's keep desktop icons on the left side of the screen? If that's the case, then maybe flipping this horizontally and letting the black space be for icons would be better. All that empty black space should be used constructively too, probably. I think the Chinese words could stand out more as well. :] That's a nice drawing of the two characters though.

I like how d'you blend your multiples bg anyway I think your black border is a little big !
You should more focus on the chara !

You need to think less in terms of dividing your wall in two like that. Try to move the character more towards the centre and extending the bg to fill the space.

Some of the borderign is a little weird too - try to hink more in terms of overlapping shapes corresponding to overlapping layers and have some of them go behind the haracters liek they do in front.
