Yaoi is a pretty new form of otaku culture. Gay manga and anime are being produced more often nowadays than what was ten years ago.I personally don't exactly like yaoi because im a straight guy...and that would kinda be just weird but i would like to know what you guys think.

*Shrug* I don't care for it myself.. It just isn't appealing to me. 0_o I know alot of other girls who like it, though.
Well i dont really care for it. o_O ive only seen on yaoi anime though [[loveless]] it didn't really bother me, but im not a fanatic about it & i highly doubt ill watch anoter yaoi.

I would just like to say it's AWSOME. Period. And Loveless it's not a yaoi anime, it's shounen-ai. That's not REAL yaoi.....

It depends. Some of the Yaoi is hard core and some are not. Loveless and gravitation are shounen ai. Their stories are so sweet and romantic.
However, there are other yaoi series that are hard core such as Embracing Love. It has a lot sex scences but the story is so romantic and strong.
Well, it depends on the person. I really don't care as long as it is a good series. C'om everybody need a little hentai right.

Actually, I used to hate Yaoi. I'd go to fandoms looking for M/F stuff and get mad when all I found was Yaoi... then my friend got me into Gravitation, and well, the rest is history ^_^;
My current obsession is Loveless. It's Shounen Ai, though I do have a stash of Yaoi manga that I'm obsessed with XD

Being that I am a guy... who likes girls my opinion is biased and somewhat tainted... However... my stance on yaoi is neutral... I don't find it disgusting but I do not find it as something that I could really like either... I never have really tried to look at it from a girls perspective before... Most girls that I have asked think that Yaoi is kind of disgusting... But I have some guy friends who think Yaoi is also very cool as long as it is done in an artistic manner and there are no parts showing... I hope more people respond to this topic because I am curious to know why people like Yaoi so much...

Uh Yaoi has parts showing. It's Shounen-Ai you're referring to then. That's the more emotional aspect rather than yaoi's heavy emphasis on the physical parts of the relationship.

Heh... well its the same thing as hentai or shoujo ai =) so we really don't have any comments on them... as for the original post saying that yaoi is the new form... its been out for a while... and if you have just recently noticed it... you are abit slow as it has been a big fad with the girls (and some guys)
I'm okay with the subject but I'm not going to go gaga crazy over it. If the storyline is interesting I will read/watch it. I would rather read/watch yaoi then shounen ai but that's because I don't like hentai.

Err...I think you got it mixed up. Yaoi is the more sex-centric one whereas Shounen Ai is milder and doesn't have as much sexual content. If you don't like Hentai, you'd probably prefer Shounen Ai.
Hmm yaoi...i don't like it cause it gives nothing to me i can't identifiy with that, but if someone likes it i have no problem with that...just saying it's nothing for me
