Lol, it wasn't the ending we were expecting, but it was amazing. I didn't think that they would kill off Nia, I was shocked when Kamina died too. WTF?! XD
Expecting? THAT'S AN UNDERSTATE! lol I wanted Simon and nia to like get Married and have lil Simon's and nia's... and kittan and yoko hooking up D< But eh I love it. It was the most filling anime i ever watch in forever. Now if bleach can get there Ending right Like TTGL I'D LOVE THAT TO!

Its too short! We need another 25 episodes of gurren laggan after that :) Probably do another 25 episodes about Gimmy and Darry during their voyage with the immortal Leeron and Viral lolx...

I don't think it was to far of a stretch for them to kill off Nia, I mean obviously they have no problem with killing important main characters (eg. Kamina). I thought it worked, it was realistic not to have a happy ending. Even if they could add more episodes I wouldn't want them to, Gurren Lagann was short and to the point. To many anime these days drag on for like 100+ episodes. TTGL did what it needed to then ended-- NO FILLER? AMAZING.

I was never a big fan of Nia, but it was still sad to see her leave like that...

The ending I found to be quite meaningful and sad at the same time. Overall the series was different from any other anime I had come across before TTGL, but at least it had closure, and didn't give viewers a window for a possible sequel. Some anime just have endings which leave you unsatisfied, but TTGL was very relaxing when it ended, at least, to me it was.

If Simon had stayed on, others will forever be in the shadow of his greatness, and people will start to become complacent and take things for granted again like in the Rossiu story arc, because the all mighty Simon will always be there to solve their problems. Simon probably realized this and thought it best to step out of the limelight and let humanity stand on its own two feet and seize its own destiny. He has already showed them the way, all they have to do is just follow his path of "piercing the heavens with your drill", in the meantime, he will choose the life of a wanderer guiding mankind from the sidelines, but making sure he is not at the forefront so as not to steal people’s thunder. It is a sacrifice that he as a true hero is willing to bear. But Simon is content with this, he is not one for regrets and will always look towards tomorrow and as long as humanity’s future is bright, he can live happily knowing he did a good job. That I feel is the real theme of Gurren Lagann, to not regret the past but to look forward to a shining future and trying to seize it.

Tengen toppa gurren lagann is one of the best mech-anime series that ive ever seen

Well, non-standard always gives a minimum of bonus points, though it was rather harsh for Nina to go out like that. Oh well, that's life, finging absurd.

It was a great and emotional ending for a great anime, but still it always leaves me rather sad when nia disappears, and you see yoko and simon aged and forgotten.

Lagann-hen dvd will be....?
The ending was so sad, simon didn't have any girls, he became a wandering old bum, yoko also lost all the man she love ( kamina and kittan ) and she just become a teacher and didnt get to marry anyone. And how come Rossiu became a president after what he did to simon ( the warrior ).
I just think the ending was so unfair to eveyone, especially simon the one who save the entire universe from annahilation.
