This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

In animes this could obviously happen, like sci-fi animes such as the Ren and Miu from dears, Piccolo from Dragon, Lamu from Lamu the invader girl etc. Not only animes but also movie such as Men In Black, Alien vs. Predator and The X-files. But do you think aliens really exist?

here are some articles and comments from: http://ufos.about.com/About_UFOs_Aliens.htm

Pilot Reports UFO & More Sightings
Hey, gang, we have some great UFO sightings to tell you about this week, so let's get started.
Florida-11-05-Witness went outside and saw a reddish, orange circular object which abruptly made a 90 degree turn. It shot out of sight in seconds.

Illinois-11-05-Witness suddenly woke up at 4:00 AM, and looking out of the window, he saw 4 orange circular lights. They were in a perfect square. The fact that the object / objects didn't move was frightening to him. After a time, the lights blinked, and a large, grey streak came from beneath, and it disappeared into the sky.

Minnesota-11-10-Two witnesses were enjoying a view of the night sky, when they noticed a section of it that seemed to be out of sync with the stars. They assumed there was an object blocking their view. After the object moved away, the two friends compared what they had seen and agreed it was of a boomerang shape.

New York-November-At about 5-6 PM, it was still daylight, when the witness saw a black triangle slowly moving in the sky. The object was flying very low. The witness thought he may have been seeing the B-2 Spirit.

Canada-November-I received two sighting reports from the canufo group. The first one involved the sighting of a cylindrical object in a suburb of Montreal, Quebec. The object was silver with a cloudy base. It disappeared instantaneously while the witness watched.

Also from Canada comes a rare sighting report by a pilot. It occurred on November 12, as the pilot flew out of JFK New York heading to Manchester, England. The pilot states that as he was at 35,000 feet and over Gagetown, New Brunswick, he saw a "bright white star" traveling north to south ahead of his plane. The pilot reported that his TCAS (Tactical Collision Avoidance System) was activated by the UFO. Normally, the TCAS is only activated when another plane's transponder is detected.

That will about do it for this week, and remember if you have a UFO sighting send it to me, be sure to give me details of when and where and as much information as you can. Until next time, keep your eyes on the skies.

An Abductee's Film
Jeremy Vaeni is a columnist at UFO Magazine. He is much like the other writers, except for one very important thing. He believes that he has been abducted by aliens, and now has documented his own story in a film titled, "No One's Watching: An Alien Abductee's Story." This is certainly one way to get your point across. His film was first aired in March of this year at Two Boots Pioneer Theater in Manhattan. His efforts only cost him about $500.00, and it debuted before only about 30 people. He documented his everyday life as an abductee, and just a regular person. He states that:

"If I were looking at this, I would be skeptical too," referring to an audience member's question as to why he didn't really try to prove his story in the film. "I just wanted to focus on waking people up and make them question what reality's about."

Wake Up and Question Reality by By Kate Mammolito, gives Vaeni's whole story. The first half of his film tells of his great love, Jenny, but then he breaks up with her. But, he explains to the audience that it was all scripted, and he just paid an actress to fill the role. He does discuss his abduction in the film, telling us that the last time it happened was in October of 2001. He does not believe that being an abductee makes him anything special, but it was just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He recounts his early life experiences which began at the young age of 13, when he saw his first UFO. Then, only two years later, he was visited in his bedroom by an alien being, and since then, he has experienced strange visual and auditory sensations, like staring for hours at the same thing, like a curb on the street. No...I'm not making this up. If you don't believe his story, don't feel bad, even his parents think he is loco. This may be all you ever know about Vaeni. Don't hold your breath...this film won't be coming to a theater near you anytime soon.

The Newbury UFO Debate
There is never a shortage of reports of UFOs. On an average I see about 30 per week. It is difficult sometimes to know what to bring to public view, and what to exclude. There is no way to edit, and post all of them, or I would be doing nothing else. Often times this includes editing, resizing, and enhancing photographs and video files. Sadly, many of these reports go unread by anyone, and some of these are "one-time" sightings, that is, they may be that person's one and only sighting of a UFO in their lifetime.
Without exception, the type of UFO reports that are the most read are those which come in waves. There have been a number of these, and every once in awhile a new one comes along. Recently this has happened in the United Kingdom in Newbury. This spate of sightings, as is normal, has created controversy. So intense has been the sightings that drivers on the M4 have pulled off the road to see these light and or object formations, which include slow, hovering objects, which at times defy normal airplane capabilities. These objects come in all shapes, including the mysterious triangle. Hopefully, some witnesses will get photographic or video evidence, which is so deperately needed, especially in sighting waves. The Newbury UFO Debate Reignited will give you all the details.

Latest UFO Sighting Reports
Here are some of the best sightings reported this past week.
California-July 21, The witness was sitting outside about 11:00 PM, watching the skies, when he spotted a golden, circular light. It was about 1/3 the size of the Moon. The light / object moved very slowly across the sky. The witness called another family member from the house to check it out. There was then a heavy feeling of static electricity in the air, and at this time, the object moved from one side of the sky to the other instantaneously.

Colorado-November 1, A truck driver from the northern part of the state was outside doing some work. He looked in the direction of Schriver AFB, and saw what he first thought to be a kite. But the object was much too high for a kite. The object was of a chevron-shape. He then saw a jet heading in the direction of the chevron. He called two buddies from the house to come outside and take a look. As the three watched, suddenly, the plane and chevron suddenly disappeared. The man is still investigating the incident.

Tennessee-October 24, The witness was driving to work when he saw a round, glowing object in the sky. The sight of the UFO would come and go because of trees on the landscape between him and the object. Finally, he lost sight of the object, but after arriving at work, it appeared again. He could hear no sound, and see no lights, but states that the object was black.

Washington, November 2, The witness was traveling east on Highway 7, when he saw a star / triangle shaped object with steady lights. The witness has seen many aircraft before, living close to McCord Air Force Base, but never an object like the one reported. The object moved through the sky until it suddenly disappeared.

That's about it for this week, so remember to send in your sighting reports to see them listed here, and keep your eyes on the skies.

Large Triangle over Cosford/Shawbury
The British television show, "Stranger than Fiction" recently featured a UFO case which occurred in 1993. This case involved the RAF bases at Cosford and Shawbury in Shropshire. This extremely compelling spate of sightings involved a massive triangular-shaped UFO. One fact about these sightings over military bases is that they always seem to be more than a one day event, and such was the case of 1993. Had it not been for a file received from a Freedom of Information Act, we would have never known about this particular case, which brings up another important question. If they are sitting on one unsolved UFO case, how many more of them are they aware of? This case is given high credibility not only because of its military and police witnesses, but also is backed by the credentials of highly respected British researcher Nick Pope. He had this to say about the Cosford-Shawbury case:
"This is the most convincing UFO incident I've ever come across. It raises serious defence and national security issues. This is the case that turned me from sceptic to believer."

According to Pope, the UFO in question was estimated at several hundred feet across. When it left the area, its speed was more than 1,000 mph. The only weak link in the information chain is a letter from the British Mod to the American embassy. Somehow it is either missing, or temporarily misplaced. To get more details on the case, and the television production, see US Air Base Filmed for UFO Show Hopefully, even more details will be released on the case in the near future.

Timothy Good has UFO Proof
One of the strange things about how we humans think is evident in what we believe and why. Evidence given to us depends more on the source sometimes, than the content itself. I suppose that experience and public exposure is very important to us. If a friend of yours tells you that he knows that UFOs are real, that is one thing, but when a well regarded researcher tells you the same thing, you wake up and listen. Such is the case with well known and highly regarded UFO researcher and author, Timothy Good. We are in need of more just like him, who tells it like it is, without worrying about the feedback. Good has been chasing the truth for many years now, and built a reputation which is second to none. I found a recent article on the NET very revealing, and wanted to share it with you.

Timothy Good Offers Proof is a nice, little compact article that gets straight to the point, without making excuses. Good claims that he has proof...proof of the existence of UFOs. He claims to have discovered the facts he needs in military and intelligence reports. He also gives us some of his theories on what these UFOs may be. For starters, he says that not UFOs are of an extraterrestrial origin.

"That's very important," he says, "and it's known that up to 90% of UFO reports can be explained in conventional terms... that still leaves tens of thousands of reports."

Although calling it an "outrageous theory," he believes that some of the UFO activity comes from our own planet. An advanced civilization, which still remains hidden, may be flying the UFOs overheard. This theory is shared by others, and may explain some of the many UFO reports that seem to defy explanation. This assertion does not preclude the idea that some of the UFOs are extraterrestrial, of course.

UFO Sighting Reports
I hope all of you survived Halloween this week, and we have some pretty "spooky" UFO sightings to share with you. I will begin this week's reports with one from an about.com reader...
1970's-On a warm summer night along I-75 south, between East Tawas and Flint Michigan; we had a "close encounter." I happened to glance to my right looking past my wife through the passengers side window at a brilliant white light on the western horizon. I brought it to her attention but thinking it was a planet we continued on. Suddenly it reappeared looming just outside her window. Frightened she slide down in the seat, while I pulled the car onto the shoulder slowing to a stop. She put her head down under the dash and I looked up through the windshield as it slowly started moving overhead.

I would say no more than a thousand feet above us were circular turquoise lights on both ends with a rectangular pattern of strobe like lights, flashing from side to side as this formation continued passing parallel and over us. We jumped out of the car and tried to bring the phenomenon to the attention of passers by to no avail. Suddenly it disappeared but then on the eastern horizon there appeared three bright red, blue and green lights. These lights began dancing in an irregular pattern all over the sky then vanished. Getting back into the car and continuing on, further down the freeway passing diagonally overhead was a formation of four oval shaped pearl like white lights in a cross shape moving in unison, very high in the sky. We never seen the physical shape of an aircraft; only the outline shapes of the light formations! source: http://ufos.about.com

Here are some brief descriptions of some other notable reports from this past week...

Arizona-A man and his wife saw a large UFO from their backyard...

California-In September, a man spotted a bright solid oval or egg shaped light moving across the sky...

Colorado-The witness saw a circle of 4-6 lights and could see thru the center of the circle. In the back was a horizontal tail with 4 lights on each side, about 30 seconds went by and a red ball was ejected from the craft...

Nevada-Two brothers witnesses a "diamond-shaped"UFO. It was a grayish blue color and it went real slow...

That will do it for this time around, so until next week, keep your eyes on the skies.

Pig-Grabbing Aliens in North Dakota?
We have all heard about cattle mutilation as related to aliens, but how about aliens who steal pigs? According the some, aliens are really stealing pigs off of a ranch outside of Tappen, North Dakota. The strange incident was reported to authorities by one Torrey Briese, whose family runs the ranch.
“Some people probably aren't going to believe it. I'm not even trying to convince anybody. We know what happened,” said Briese.

The family claims three such incidents have occurred during the last year. According to Briese, her son Evan was up early on September 12, to get a glass of water. He could see out of his window from the kitchen, and saw something moving in the corral. The corral housed the family pigs, so the young man was afraid that a predator was after one of the occupants. He went, gun in hand, to check it out.

When he arrived, he was stunned to see two 8-9 foot tall creatures trying to catch one of the pigs. An eerie scream came from one of the creatures as he shot it. The other being grabbed the boy and threw him to the ground. He was unconscious. When he awoke, he discovered one of their 450 pound porkers was gone. All of this was reported to the police, as Evan told his story in his ripped up shirt. A truly bizarre tale, and you can see the rest of the story at Creature Sightings Stir Talk, Pig-Grabbing Aliens in North Dakota.

Kinross Incident Update
Not too long ago, I touched on the ongoing investigation into the 1953 incident involving a Scorpion jet piloted by one Felix Moncla. This case is being reviewed extensively by UFO researchers everywhere. The Great Lake Dive Company has allegedly found the missing jet, and a UFO. This, if it pans out, would be one of the greatest discoveries in the field of Ufology in a long, long time. This would be the physical evidence...the smoking gun...if you will. Yet, there is controversy, and until the objects can actually be brought up from the lake, we will not know for certain just what we have.
If the photographs are actually of the missing jet and a UFO, it will prove that on that fateful day in 1953, the Scorpion and the UFO collided, causing both to ditch into the depths of the water below. If you recall, the two radar blips became one, and that fact alone tells us a lot. Don't miss out on this riveting case. Hopefully, this will be resolved next Spring, when the weather is more acceptable for the dive team to continue their quest. Through the efforts of my friend, Dirk at UFO Digest, updates has been coming in on the mystery and controversy behind the Kinross case. Be sure to check out the latest news on The Kinross Controversy

Latest UFO Sighting Reports
We have some great sighting reports to look at this week. So, let's see what's been happening in the world of UFOs.
In Arizona, a man sighted two separate and different objects about 10 minutes apart from each other. The sighting occurred over Tempe Sky Harbor International Airport on October 18. While taking a lunch break, he saw a "tumbling black and white object" moving from East to West. After this brief event, he then saw a red and white UFO sit stationary in the sky for 5 minutes, before it drifted away.

In California, a man was outside throwing a ball for his dogs, when he saw a shadow on the ground, which would happen from time to time as a plane passed overhead. But this time, there was no sound at all. He looked up and noticed a blimp or cigar shaped object, slowly moving. It had no markings of any kind.

In Florida, a couple was traveling on State Road 50 on October 15, when they saw four glowing green orbs in the sky. They moved very rapidly, and were in sync as they sped along.

In Georgia on October 13, a man and his girlfriend were camping in Dawsonville on Friday the 13th. At about 10:30 PM, as they were going to sleep, they heard a thunderous noise coming toward them. They were certain the object was a helicopter. But, out ahead of the helicopter was a boomerang-shaped object, some 50 yards distant. The object was definitely V-shaped with lights at the three points.

In Longview, Texas on October 11, a woman and her husband were on the way to Lowe's when they saw a white ball of light in the sky. The odd thing was that the object just "hung" in the air, seemingly motionless. She felt that people thought her "nuts" standing outside of the store looking up into the sky.

Going out of country to Australia, where we get this report. On October 17, a man walked outside and saw an object moving from the East of Mount Coother. It was about 300 feet above ground level. The object was cigar-shaped, with two lights, one at each end. The man knew is was a UFO, because of its immense size, proximity, and lack of sound.

Well...folks, that's about it for another week, so until next week, keep your eyes on the skies.

I believe there's life out there. I mean, c'mon. There has to be. It's a big place, the universe. ;P (Not to mention the theories about multiverses, whoa.)

It's just that life, in whichever form it may be, is somewhere really really far away.

No comment on "aliens" visiting Earth, though.

Well...i believe that aliens do exist. In fact i do believe other supernatural things like ghosts, spirits etc exist. It is in fact true that we humans are not alone. Who noes there might be some other lifeform living on another planet that are more dormant than us. Some people might just think that there are created by idiots (ie. you Manjix) but i believe we humans are not the most dormant creatures in this universe.

Maybe we are experimented beings made by aliens themselves. Maybe we are the lost civilation that the aliens are trying to restore. Maybe we are aliens but haven't reach the stage to call other beings alien. Maybe we are pawns of a realm created by the alien, like chess.

There are many possibilities. One more thing, why must alien only ride on a disk-shape like object? It could be a shape of an eagle that's so large but when's flying so high in the atmosphere, people will just think it is a bird. Who knows. Don't wory so much, we won't be able to live that long to see people living in space...(at least for me)

I don't believe there's no other being other than Earth. If Earth's the only place where beings can exist, it would be invaded long time ago and by that time, we won't even had a chance to type this kind of thread.

-Cheers

Wowsers. That was a lot to read.

Let me look at this in two ways. First, you should look into a book titled "Probability 1" by Amir Aczel. He carefully shows (mathmatically) how the probability of life in the universe other than us is indistinguishable from 1 using Pascal's formula.
Now, the UFO thing does not go down with me. Let me explain why. I am a scientist at heart, and I love physics. While I agree that there must be life somewhere in the universe, the plain, hard fact is that we will never know it. the nearest possible life-supporting planet is in a system 20,000 light years away. Problem is, if they contact us, or we contact them, using the fastest means possible (light) it will take 20,000 years for our missive to get to them. Think about that. We send a message in 5,000 B.C. (somehow). It gets to them in 15,000 A.D. Sucks, huh? By the time they know that we are cave dwelling idiots or slaves of the Egyptians, we are flying around in space cars and eating hyper burgers or something.
And what if they fly to meet us? Their civilization is dead, dead, dead by the time they get to us, and they are screwed. Forever. What if we fly to meet them? Same issue. They are dead, dead, dead by the time we get there. Even if they are still alive, they will think we are trying to anal probe them and blast us to quarks.
It's just physics, people. You can believe in all the sci-fi things you like, but there ain't no way of getting around the laws of physics. There are things out there, for sure. We will never met them. Case closed.

Regards, Aaron

Yeah, I agree with most of what you guuys are saying. I think that the is definatly life out there somewhere, it's a big place. But that they would even bother with puny Earthlings(us) is beyond me. If they were smart they would stay away. Also, scientists have found planets in other galaxies which are similar to Earth and could support life. It is still beyond unlikely any of us will ever meet an "alien" though.

I do not believe that there is life such as aliens with advanced technology, but the possibilty of various forms of bacteria or other microscopic creatures is very high. However, the more they study the universe the more they think that it exists to accomidate just the ability for life to exist on Earth, there are a few different types of galaxies and only one type has the conditions for life. Spiral galaxies are the only ones capable of accomodating life on it's planets and even then it is only a certain type of spiral galaxy and they are extremely rare.

The universe is a big place and there may be aliens out there somewhere. This is speculation, it is neither obvious nor factual. There is no unmistakable proof for their existence. Stop using definitive words.

Also, scientists have found planets in other galaxies which are similar to Earth and could support life. It is still beyond unlikely any of us will ever meet an "alien" though.

Astronomers have found extrasolar planets in nearby star systems, but none of them are small terrestrial planets that could support life as well know it.

The fact is,there are no such thing as "Aliens".Even if they exist, they see us as "Alien" and we see them as "Alien".Most of those "Alien" stuffs are usually not real,or jokes made by lifeless idiots who's iq are lower than 50...

The fact is you need to figure out what you want to say. If the "fact is" there are no aliens, then they do not exist and your second sentence only refutes your "fact".

You seem to be taking a lot of figures out of thin air? "Life supporting" is quite a loosely defined word that in the minds of many laypersons are based on purely anthropocentric views. If you are using the broadest definition of the word, then the nearest possible life supporting planet is Mars. If you are using the narrowest definition, then there is nowhere else in the universe we know of except Earth.

The variables in Drake's equation are largely unknown, and yet to ascribe definite figures as if you are all knowing. The lifetime of an advanced alien civilization may be much longer than you think, there are just so many different factors that have an effect.

If you are a scientist you would recognize that science is changing as new observations and theories are developed. Einstein's theories are by no means a complete theory of everything. Given the age of the universe, it is possible for alien civilizations to be billions of years more advanced than our own, and perhaps they have answers that we don't. I would agree with what somebody said earlier, that if aliens existed they wouldn't want to visit us, either because we are too barbaric, or that we are too technologically naive.

Lol. anyways. hell yea, i think there is aliens out there...well, i think there is. i dunno, maybe. but the universe is HUGE..you never know if there will be another "us" across the universe looking for another "them" . that would be pretty cool, if there were another "us"

and yeah..about your quoted article..on the UFOs and the aliens...ive heard it on CNN once, that you can make like..colors in the sky at night and stuff..like a candle in a bag. and you let it fly..and it might look like a UFO.
but that has been reported a few years back.

quoting from MooMooCow1314[to much to quote, don't want to]:
yeah i believe in ghosts and spirits and stuff..but it always bring chills down my spine thinking about it.

anyways, about the aliens, i think..its your opinion to think if there are actually "aliens" out somewhere in the universe.

First of, any of you guys know how big the universe is? Well its HUGE and telling that there are not aliens out there is a stupid reason. Why would it only be us that are alive.

But I don't really believe that they would come here and spook around. IF they would they really are bored and want some entertaining and then nice coping and pasting pal. Doesn't show your opinion at all.

We are just one planet in this massively huge universe. Who are we to say that we are the only life forms in it? where we can't live, other forms of life can, no matter how big and small they are. The fact is that people assume "ALIENS" to be our size.

Technically wrong. Just having able to find organisms living in another planet, maybe the size of bacteria, is already considered finding "aliens". I don't like that word that much. :P like said, there is no real ALIEN. We are alien to others, others are alien to us. Its just a term for something we are not familiar with.

*nods thoughtfully*

Let me start by saying I am not a scientist. I only like to read about scientific topics and study the current works of the most compelling in the field. I am certain that I will misrepresent some things, and I apologize in advance and appreciate corrections.
With regards to Eikenhein's reprisal (I won't lengthen the thread, but you should read it if you haven't), I concede that current human tech is not the be all and end all, and that we may yet figure things out in the future that will turn our current thoughts about space and time on it's head. However, with that thought, you have to appreciate that there are fundamental problems with just refuting Einstein without giving any good reason. To argue that "we don't know everything" smacks of the same argument that Intelligent Design people use on evolution.
The physics that we've at least proven in our limited current technology are enough for me to think that UFOs are in the same category as "angels" and "ghosts". People will see what they want to see, regardless of how much empirical data we amass to the contrary.
I think it's a bit irresponsible to dismiss what we already know as obsolete before it becomes so. As with all the sciences, it is merely a theory until it is proven. The speed of light? Proven. The effects of time on space travel? Proven.
And in my defense, I wasn't saying Amir Aczel was absolutely right, I was suggesting that the people interested in the thread read it. They can judge for themselves, and it largely supports the idea of intelligent life. Not sure why you thought I was trying to use that to somehow prove I knew everything.
