I'm watching the first serie...I've just finished watching the Watanagashi Chapter...and I like this anime A LOT!!!!

This anime gives me the creeps at times... especially Mion. She creeps me out the most...

Higurashi is super awesomeness with lots of sugar and blood! Muahahahahahaha! All of the characters are special. Despite all of the violence and gore in the series, it's full of great sadness and a longing for the characters to reach a happy ending. The first season was awesome. The different scenarios slowly showed each character's own story and history. It's creepy, yes. But it's also quite touching. You can't help but feel sorry for them. The series has a good balance between seriousness and comic relief. It gives the viewer a story of friendship and trust, or rather mistrust. The first season is all about the questions of the story. The viewer is left confused until...THE SECOND SEASON!!! The second season revolves around the questions that the first season left unanswered (the plot holes). It explains the past as well as looks into the reasons for the disturbances in the first season. Kai shows the significance of Rika. Rika is soo CUUUUUUUUUTE!! Omochikaeri~! So is Hanyuu! Watching both series made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Yes, warm and fuzzy. Like a cat in a microwave. It may seem odd that this freaky series would make a person feel warm and fuzzy, but I guess that makes me an odd person. It filled me with so many different emotions. It's impossible for me to describe it! You have to watch it for yourself! WATCH IT!! You'll get to see blood, gore and violence. You'll get to see uber cuteness! It funny, sad, mad, glad, bad, warm and fuzzy, fun and adventurous, creepy, addicting like drugs....
If you do not watch this series...they will get you. They are watching you...always.

One of the best series ever made, full of unexpected twists, and turns, it keeps you guessing as what is going to happen next, why is the world reverting back to normal, after the deaths of the main characters?
What I loved about season 1, made me fall in love with season 2 even more.
In Kai we finally get the whole story, and it's being settled with the god taking action.
Loved the plot, the set up, drama, and constant thinking.
Favorite character; Rena (got to love the cleaver girl)!
Love the new opening in (Kai).
Still can't really understand the ending however, can anyone explain? Ending in season 2 I can't even think of what that last scene meant...

Evrything is fine: story, music, climate... but graphic and character design is bad (it's my opinion). i don't like character's eyes or strong hair colour. but in fact anime is worth watching :)

I like the first season, because it's damn splatter. the problem is the story in first season, because it's very confused. the second season is not that what i expect from the first one. but the story is linear and so the anime is only a normal anime.

well, a third season is in planning, maybe it's better than the second version...

I'm just starting to watch Higurashi, my friend force me to watch an episode of it. But I was against it at first because she said it's a gory anime (which I petrified at the site) but then I got hooked because of the songs, Dear You and Naraku no Hana. Though the plot wasn't really there until the second season came. Mostly random killing and you couldn't really tell who is the protagonist or the antagonist. I agree with you that hopefully, they would figure out how they are going to do this.

I just watched the first season recently and was blown away. Totally blown away. I'm so sorry for not watching this ages ago when it was first airing, but I don't know if I would've been able to wait for the episodes to come out! Honestly, I'm also somewhat glad I marathoned it. After the first arc, it gets really addicting. I finished it all in about 5 days, it was difficult to stop watching.

The music is all really good and fits with the creepy atmosphere. Some people don't like the art, but I got used to it after a few episodes. I didn't find it really that "gorey," more psychological. I can see why it isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I definitely won't forget it any time soon, it REALLY left an impression.

Shion is probably my favorite character. Her arc was so awesome, I really felt sorry for her. I'm still watching Kai, but I hope she gets more screen time soon. Definitely an interesting, underrated character.

Second season was better then the first.

I'm currently at episode 14 of the first season, and I have to say that this is a good anime. But nothing more. A decent one, not a fantastic one. Almost as overrated as Haruhi was, and still is.

The story is original and all that, but what else has it got? The animation is, in my opinion, not good at all, and not the voice acting either. It's got generic music, and although there are some interesting moments, quite a bit of it feels somewhat dull, and the bad animation doesn't make it any better.

I can't deny that the main reason for me watchin this is to have the first and second seasons finished by the time the third begins. I like having quite a few currently-airing series to watch.

Great anime I must say. I was really confused watching the first season, but after the answer arcs, it really got interesting. The only thing I really didn't like in this anime was the laughs. Rena and Mion/Shion's freak me out. But Rika's nipahh makes up for it. So moe xD

In first episode, it started with blood....that was I like ^ ^ Blood!! 55+
But I'm not completely watch them all 'cause I'm in examination time T^T.

I thing if I have a time, I will watch the whole episode in 1 day 555+

I like the series, but I don't like graphic at all - colours are too "sweet", eyes are to big and blood isn't realistic :( in my opinion it would be more better with diffrent graphic...
