Higurashi was awsome i can't wait for higurashi rei1

Watched the first ep and it looks good. Its nice

Loved the first season. Not so keen on the second season, but it was okay. Also, Rena is love.

there where sometimes that i was afraid to go to the toilet alone :P
i find this anime kind of scary but i really liked it

I finished both seasons, the first season was awesome because it was bloody and nasty and the opening is great.
the second was also good with good songs but not bloody or nasty at all, just to clear the story.
but its still one of the best animes i watched (or maybe is the best).

It was my favorite serie before, because the side more gore than horror like claymore. I love the "sadisme et la peur qu'on ressent en regardant" this serie. But I never see the end because it is licencied in vostfr at episode 20, I think. And the second season, I dont continue this serie, because my hard drive 900Go "a planté" and I stop to watch anime. But the season one, I think it is best than second season.

This has been one of the most interesting animes that I have watched so far, at least in the content. The gore and craziness of it was real good in the first season.

At first I did't know what was going on. But anime is incredible! And OP is brilliant!
For me that manga/anime is sure unique - I haven't seen that type of writing before

Extra arcs

Three extra chapters were included in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei (ひぐらしのなく頃に礼, When Cicadas Cry Gratitudes?), two of which were newly created. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei was released on December 31, 2006.

Saikoroshi-hen (賽殺し編, Dice Killing Chapter?)
Saikoroshi-hen is an epilogue of Matsuribayashi-hen which takes place two months after the events of it in August 1983. Rika falls into a coma after a car accident, but she wakes up in a totally different world, where none of the tragic events of the main series ever happened: Keiichi is not in Hinamizawa, Rena's parents did not divorce, the dam project was resolved smoothly, and neither Satoko nor Rika's parents died. When Rika believes that she cannot return to her former world and resigns to live in the perfect world for the rest of her life, she awakens, and discovers that everything was a dream created by the coma state.

Batsukoishi-hen (罰恋し編, Penalty Loving Chapter?)
A slapstick dream story in which Keiichi and the Soul Brothers fight against the girls by means of the club punishment games. This chapter was originally an epilogue titled Otsukaresama-kai which came with Meakashi-hen, but it was deemed too irrelevant and silly and was removed from subsequent chapters.[citation needed]

Hirukowashi-hen (昼壊し編, Daybreak Chapter?)
Hirukowashi-hen is based on Higurashi Daybreak. The main characters are Keiichi Maebara and Rika Furude, and this story is set in a parallel world. One day, Rena accidentally swallows something in her mouth during her usual treasure hunting. According to Rika, the seal of the sacred "Fuwarazu Magatama" pairs were broken and Rena must have accidentally swallowed one of them. The magatama holds mysterious magical powers in which a person that has the red magatama will blindly fall in love with anyone with the white magatama.

So for Rei they are most likely only show one of these story arcs from the game.
As for the season 1 and 2, they both rock can't wait for this and Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Rena, Rika and Hanyu are super cute!

well not much can be expected if the series continue in OVA, if they create long series again like season 1 and 2, it must create another story and maybe new character. Though i prefer adult character from past higurashi like in kai ending, i want more of rika chan adult...hehe

Yup with all new cast and a whole new story in Umineko no Naku Koro ni from what I read so old characters appearing is highly unlikely and even so they will either make a short few seconds appearance or maybe Rika will appear like Yuuko(ef a tale of memories) to give them advice or something.
