Higurashi Live Action Movie
Just in case people didn't know there is apparently a live action movie coming out for the Higurashi series. According to the trailer it will be release sometime in spring this year.

Yeah, in that picture, he's not in character, so he doesn't look very 'Keiichi'
The actual Movie website has a few pictures of them in character, and I think the kids all seem to fit their roles good, or course, that's just based on the pictures, I have yet to see acting D:

The best news i heard all day. Hopefully the theme would stay true to the original. if the plot is not merely a retelling of the first arc and not become senseless killing like battle royale. i didn't check the site, but isn't it weird that Mion was on the poster but not shion.
Mion looks old and Keiichi looks weird but Satoko and Rika look cute! I wonder how they will show the gory scenes

I think this will be a bad idea, and a bad imitation on the amazing series.
Also note the trailer, you seem to get the hint of it all going as the tragedy, so will there be a sequel?
Because it seems like this movie won't be able to tell all of the anime in even 2 hours.
Anime takes events over many years, and re-set events, but the movie, well I just don't know.
Also anyone think that role play for; Rika, and Satoko, look like they should switch, I mean look at the head / hair styles, and the design of them in the anime?

Don't you think that Rika and Satoko look too old? I mean, they look the same age as Shion, Mion and Keiichi 
Btw, I'm probably the only one here who thinks so, but I think a Higurashi live action isn't good idea. But I generally don't like the live action movies based on anime...

Why did all of the main characters turns into college guys and girls = = But I'll still watch it anyway, who knows it turns out better than I thought

To be honest i dont think that itll work. higurashi looks really good as an anime but as a live action i dont think the characters will look like their counterparts. that said it may turn out alright but my hopes arent all that high, im more excited about another season of the anime.
I don't know what to think yet. Keiichi looks nothing like I would've imagined (in fact, none of them do, but hey), Rena is friggin' GORGEOUS, Mion is... kinda average. Bit of a disappointment there, and I think Rika and Satoko should be younger. Much, much younger.
I think it could still work, but the acting will have to be really good. I'll definitely watch when it's out though. =D

Yeah, I agree with Rika having to be younger and Keiichi looking too cheerful. What I'm worried about is how the bloody murder scenes are going to turn out, because there's no denying it that the series wouldn't be the same without the graphic crime scenes.
This makes me nervous, because I'd like to watch it without downing it firsthand. But I am curious to know if they actually tried to adapt it with a lot of effort...though looking at the casting I'm not so sure.
