Looks good as same as anime series, but... where Shion? Rena looks older than in anime, but Keichii's actor is so fit

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (ひぐらしのなく頃に, 'Cuando las Cigarras Lloran'?) is the title of a novel visual Japanese mystery, produced by 07th Expansion. The series focuses a group of young friends and strangers events that occur in the villa in which they live: Hinamizawa (雏见沢
Higurashi no Naku Koro happens during June 1983 in a fictitious village of Hinamizawa name, which is based in a village called Shirakawa, Gifu. The protagonist, Keiichi Maebara, moves into this and made friends with some of his fellow college: Ryuugu Rena, Sonozaki Shiono, Furude Rika and Houjo Satoko. Alongside them Keiichi is devoted to the activities of the club who have after school, which consists mostly in playing board games and cards. The town seems normal and quiet, yet this changes after Watanagashi festival, a local festival in which he thanked the local deity, Oyashiro-sama. Keiichi learns that in the past four years a person has disappeared and another has died on the day of the festival. Keiichi is gradually involved in these events and Oyashiro-sama
He started as an amateur doujin game, and after several deliveries, the saga "Higurashi no Naku Koroni" prepares to make the jump to film market. It will do so in 2008 under the direction of Ataru Oikawa.
In the division we will see Maeda Gouki (Keiichi), Asuka Rhine (Mion), Matsuyama Airi (Rena), Ono Eren (Houjo Satoko), and Aiken (Furude Rika).
The franchise has not only the games, but has also been adapted to manga, anime, radio drama and novels.

I can't wait for the LA Movie to be subbed, I also can't wait for the second movie (based upon the second ARC of the first season of Higurashi) to be released either.

Too bad they didn't get kids to act this out... At least the girls look cute though, especially Satoko. Keiichi looks freaky enough. He looks all disheveled and layback, which is rather unfortunate =/

How interesting. I want to see how they adapted the violence...
I'm kind of surprised they didn't keep the original hair/costume colors, that makes it a bit harder to tell who's who ^^; I guess that would've made it more cartoony, but I thought the trailer makes it look like some random Japanese horror flick than specifically Higurashi.
I wonder if they filmed it in the real village that Hinamizawa is set in? Certainly bears a striking resemblance.

Looking good movie... Keiichi looking younger than anime version, but Rena looks innocent
