No Shion? Oh well, as long as they capture the daemonic features of the paranoia, and it's all believable, AND they don't kill the core plot for commercial motives, I'll be happy. Just hope the acting and everything doesn't stick out badly like an apple amongst a basket of bananas :\ Would be really disappointing... :{

Hmmm... All live actions have been pretty bad... Prince of Tennis, Sailor Moon, you name it... Just hope this one turns out alright

I personally didnt like the live action of higurashi. maybe its because some of the actors didnt match their roles. Or i envisioned the characters in a different way as the producer, either way i didnt like it. Not all live actions are bad though. I liked the deathnote live action and the actor for misa-misa matched her role very well,

I have seen the trailer(s) and judging by them this is one heck of a sucky live-action. Maybe if they had used actors closer to the corresponding character ages or at least dyed their hair to make them more recognizable it would've looked great. Also some of the scenes look blasphemous, so to say, eg. Rena rattling Keiichi's door to let her in. One of the scariest scenes ever, especially in Higu, but the movie version lacks the emotion. I mean, come on, RENA DOES NOT LAUGH IN THAT SCENE!! It just wouldn't fit. Keiichi looks and sounds like a girl, Mion lacks any moe factors, neither Satoko nor Rika is cute and the director seems clueless about the whole thing(considering the camera angles and all). Glad they did the LA of the first chapter(my fav), the setting also looks somewhat like the original. All things aside, I'd still like to watch it though, not to flame it more, but to see if there are any trinkets of the original Higu madness.
I hope it's as good as the anime ^__^ but it probably won't be. Anyway I'll defenitily watch it!

I hate it when this happens. Its like they're purposely made to ruin the Anime
I'm not gonna lie, it looks horrible to me... they all look the same age... also, I don't think Higurashi is the type of anime that should be adapted into a live action, either.

Rena should switch roles with the satoko or rika hahha, they seem more cute than her!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I don't think it will turn out as actually good or well done.
I do, however, think that it will be very amusing and will provide me with much lulz, just based on the one scene of it I saw on Youtube with Rena's "USO DA!"

I've already been disappointed by Death Note... It was cool, but with THAT cool story, they could have put more effort into the movie.
The real characters in Higurashi are very young. I don't think they can get that young actors - and I also don't think the kids can act as freaky/psycho as in the anime. ^^'
It might be a good movie, but not worth to be called "Higurashi no naku koro ni".
I'm still looking forward to see it, I just hope some good group will sub it. :p
