I watched all of it, including the second season, and thought it was such a good story. Some of the parts really scared me, but Rika's cute-ness makes up for it ^_^ Although she can be scary too sometimes... D=

Along with the series Elfen Lied fascinate me are much like the plot and in each arc as you left with the doubt that would happen even a few seasons were so exciting and suspenseful
I didn't even know they made this into an anime (but then again why wouldn't they), I just read the manga. It was good though. Very different too.
And now Umineko no Naku Koro ni is airing. Does it deserve a thread of its own or should it be treated as a part of the Higurashi series? I saw first chapter. Didn't like nor opening nor ending music, a little exagerated to me, but the story seems interesting. Well, a bit repetitive also, instead of an Oyashiro-sama is a witch, instead of a secluded town, it's an island.

I loved both seasons of Higurashi. The first season was awesome in how it kept throwing question-arcs one after another at you. I especially loved the final Rena arc. The second season had a lot of boring episodes and the middle parts felt pretty boring, admittedly, but the last few episodes were AWESOME. AKASAKA was amazing! And so were Kasai and Oishi.
Rei so far has been alright, but the first episode was a waste of time.

I really loved the series as I was watching it!
My favorite character would have to be Maebara Keiichi, not because he's voiced by my favorite Japanese Voice actor and that he can scream (so can Rena, gosh she scared me at the very beginning!) but his character is pretty funny! "You can just call me... 'K'!" *sha-shin~*
But the story was very interesting! I was always trying to figure it out and I never did figure it out correctly in the end, but I was fairly close!
The second season was pretty good and when you find out these things it was just like "HO- I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!"
I haven't watched Umineko no Naku Koro ni, I'm kinda thinking about but if it's very super similar in that kind of way, I might just delay it...

This show has so many great genres in it, and such an unexpected plot that it's hard not to be entertained! Both seasons took me a total of two days each; it was almost like reading Angels and Demons - I just couldn't put it down. The only way I feel like someone couldn't enjoy this series is if someone isn't comfortable with watching gory, tortuous scenes like the ones that are developed later in the series. However, it's hard to hate the comedy this series has to offer when it takes a break from all the drama, and the horror.

That anime is good , but seriously it was scary and really hard to understand , i actually didn't figure out the story (i did , but i needed a confirmation) 'til the 3rd season X<

And there's no killer loli :D

I wouldn't say that Umineko is too repetitive, yes, the whole thing of them being locked up in the island is the same as Hinimawa, but the whole idea of this is to let everybody know that they can't scape, either they survive or die, but no running away. Umineko is very original, and the fact that we can see the witch Bernkastel and Lambda is awesome! I have no doubts that this won't be only as good as Higurashi, but will surpass it!

Yeah, really enjoyed it and now I want to read the visual novels. Incidentally, if your planning on watching Umineko no naku koro ni, trust me when I say you'll get far more out of it reading the sound novel version. There's a good english patch out there and the suspense and mystery seem to have been far better executed than what I've seen of the anime.

I've watched the first few eps and I thought it was very awesome. Ifound my face really near the screen only to be scared at Rena's "THAT'S A LIE!"
