Higurashi Good Anime!

The animation only made it creepy to me (like Narutaru or something); if the character designs were changed to look more sharp, then i would be purchasing it! Great story line, though!

I sort of have mixed feelings about this third season. I mean, as much as I like Higurashi and everything, I don't see what more can they show us after Matsuribayashi-hen. Wouldn't doing the manga arcs be somewhat anti-climatic? We know how it ends already, then we go back and see more reruns of Rika's life and what would've happened if the village was killed? I don't really like that idea.
If it is going to be short, like a 12 episode season or something like that, and we see more from the pieces (like Hanyuu's past), and Saikoroshi-hen, then I'd definitely be interested.

My favourite is Rena (when she got bloody face MUHAHA)
maybe once I make a cosplay...

Higurashi was great, but i wish the thrid season was a REAL season, not just an OVA set. That was disappointing.

Best anime I've seen since Code Geass! But as said above the third season's length is disappointing.

I watched the entire first and second seasons (mostly due to pestering by a certain friend.) I don't really like the art style, but that aside, it was a decent show, in my opinion. Not a favorite, but it had it's moments. Unfortunately, one of my favorite things about anime and/or manga is the beautiful art, so it's likely my opinion for this series was partially influenced by that bias.
That being said, as the show progressed (in terms of seasons) the artwork seemed to improve, which was a plus. However, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
As the artwork improved, it seemed the storyline declined greatly. When I watched the first episode of the third season, I could hardly believe they were related. What had happened that caused this show, once revolving around interesting themes of suspense, mystery, murder, et cetera, to seemingly transform into your run of the mill perversion-focused harem-styled anime?
Needless to say, I was not thrilled with that episode, and ceased my viewing at that point.
The first two seasons were good, but the third just spoiled the entire batch. But perhaps that was the artist's intent, in some strange, round-about fashion?
I have enough sense to doubt the rest of the episodes are like that, but still, I'm loathe to continue watching that series, especially since it's been so long.
Just my two cents though.

I liked it a lot but it's not the best one... it has its message, forces to thinking, has some humourous moments and quite scary ones - getting rid of your own nails and sophisticated methods of torturing... team work and spirit... Higurashi is very good but because of some moments - not great...
I love this anime as well. It has it's (spine chilling) moments that just freak you out. But then, there are the hopeful moments too as well. I was extremely clueless about the 1st season, but it got less confusing when the second season and then third one came out.
Lol, loved this one as well. Second season especially when I found out it would mostly center with Rika, being she's one of my favorites, or overall favorite. Good story, good characters, mindfuck? Yes, but It's good, whoever bashes it over 'Wtf is this crap, wtf is going on?!' Is too simpleminded, 'nuff said.
