Ok, I wanted to put two wallpapers here to save time but I changed my mind after reading one of the "Sticky" notes.. Haiz.. Oh, just forget it. I'll get to the point -->

Here's my first attempt to do a wallpaper, and I know it's not impressive (I think at all .. kinda weird and plain), small size & bad quality (because I want to upload it fast.. I'll get it right when it's time..) etc and therefore need your help.. The link:

Oh, and, forget about the text. . I know they can come later but if you want to comment on the text, please tell me whether the font and position of the font are suitable with the picture.. Thanks and sorry if I caused any inconvenience (eyesore).. T-T

Your scan doesnt seem TOO bad, it may be rejected because its not crystal crisp =P

Also the bg is just a bit too plain and the "noise grain" effect you've added makes it seem like its a really bad quality picture =/

I suggest more in the background really xD

I suggest a more, somehow background. Now it is too simple and sooooooooo impossible to be accepted.

Here are my suggestions

[1] Have a clean and clear background. Yours is grainy and has a lot of noise in it.
[2] Clean the scan. It looks kinda blur.
[3] The whole wall looks pretty simple though, try adding some christmas symbols or patterns in the background since its a christmas wall ^^
[4] Make the font size bigger and place it at the bottom of the wall right above your signature ^^

Ok, thanks for all the advice. I decided that it is too much work (and yes, I agree, "soo impossible to be accepted") and therefore changed the whole wallpaper. (The scan is not in a very good quality in the first place) This is my second attempt:

The second one is clearly not extracted and you just add some stuff on the background to make it less obvious... That kind of tricks are not working on AP...

The first wall needs some work but you can fix things easily. If your scan is pretty low quality at first, just go in the groups section and search for some cleaning tutorials. also check out the extraction tutorials cause I guess you have some troubles there too...

Then you'll have to work a little on the background... It's pretty easy. Keep the shapes you have cause they are really looking good then just replace the texture background you have by some pattern one... Add some Christmas trees or some green and red (not too much red)... Or you can go on on the blue theme but add some snow...

You can find a lot of stock and brushes on DevianArt to help you.

And I did extract actually, but just the top of Chii. In the original scan/picture that I found, it wasn't big or have much to extract. Have a look:

Now, since there are a few people says that the first one is the better one, I'll go for both of it, but work on the first one first. Since I prefer the second to the first.

In my opinion the second one is too purple, makes it a bit hmmm to much of the same.
Think the first one has more potential to get accepted, but that is just my two cents.

I'll assume you have photoshop? If not, then I suggest getting gimpshop (photoshop tutorials work exactly the same on gimpshop)

I think the new one needs more work than can be feasibly done in a short time :(
Stick with the first one, the Christmas-Chii

So going back to your first wall, you have a good layout already.
-It's been mentioned before, but get rid of the noise/grain in the bg. It's okay to have a simple, solid bg.
-Your scan is workable. Needs more definition. You can check out a cleaning tutorial and a vibrant-image tutorial to make the scan look better.

Do those things first...we'll see how the wall turns out afterwards. if you have any questions, feel free to ask or drop a comment on my tutorials page.

Even though you might like some stuff in the bg, i'll reiterate again that sometimes, having a plain, solid bg looks better than a decorated one...it's all up to you, and how much effort you're willing to put into it.

This is the first Chii wallpaper. I changed the background and took away the grainy part of the wallpaper. I'll try out the tutorials you (hofodomo) showed me, but I hope comments can be made to how is it at the moment.

This is the second wallpaper. I took out the song lyrics and texts except for the title, 'Raison D'etre'. The title is French then the texts were in Japanese so I took them all away. Then I enlarged it (to 1600x1200) because the smallest walls are 1024x768 but it definitely was a shock for me to see it so big (my computer is 800x600).

Well, yeah, I am trying my best to make a wallpaper but I think it is just not time yet. I think that I have not enough experience or inspiration and my problem is that I rush into things very quickly sometimes without thinking twice or thrice so thanks so~ very much to those who encouraged and helped me and sorry but I don't think I can complete it yet. But I certainly won't rule out the possibility of making one in the future though.
