kk...i know the extraction isn't perfect, but i'm still working on it. i just wanted to post it up first cuz i'm really stuck on how i could improve the bg, and how i can make it better...i also want some opinions and ideas on it :) and is the bg "too realistic"? i know loads of people who post on SZ with stock bgs have that problem.
btw, can anyone explain to me what the differences between "angel flavour" and "aoi nanase" are? lol. i found this scan under BOTH titles in www.digik.net and www.celestial-star.net

Background isn't to bad, hmm but you got to work on the blending of it. And as you have stated yourself, work on the extraction. I would also pick another font, because the edges of that font are very sharp. You might also want to clean up the scan a bit :) The feathers are a nice touch though. Good luck working on it!
Personally that back ground would pit well if you fix the text up its all pointy xD and extraction as you said but the overlay color makes the BG fix but maybe add some thing there like... a small poem

I really like your background and the lighting! I think the scan blends well too. But I don't like the text at all. It doesn't match or something. It needs to be a different color, and maybe even a different font? The font could be more "whispy" and soft like the sky, and the color, if you want to go with something dark, I would make it the same color as their jackets, that dark brown, or better yet, the same darker yellow tone that's in the sky or on top of the water. :-)

Kk...changed the font, but i'm not bothered enough to post up an update just for that. glad that most of you think the bg's ok :)
any other suggestions apart from font and extraction? cuz i changed font, and i know my extracting skills suck since i don't have enough patience to stare at the computer screen for ages. most likely i will finish this wall a bit a day XD

The background works for me. At least on the mountain side and half in the clouds. The water breaks the ilusion Its very obvious because of the water that it is a photo. It's just an opnion, not even asugestiong, but you could try and aply some filter(s) to try and make it look less natural and more painty?
THe font as people has stated was very off to the pic. My recomendation isa bit diferent. Change the font (looks jaggy, you need antyalias on it) with you have done, but instead of a dark color try just a dar gradient border. so the actual font is transparent but it can be read because of the border.
Just my toughts.

Um...the font is better now...but to me it still doesn't fit into the bg(just my opinion) And what kind of filter did you use for the bg?The water looks strange lol.
