Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

The Macs in my university are the newest ones. I never liked macs, especially the ones in school because they're always loaded with viruses

That's rather interesting as there are only a couple of viruses for OS X, which don't affect Windows machines. Of course someone could download files containing Windows viruses onto OS X (which they won't affect) and then copy them over to a Windows machine.

The ones at the university I go to have virus scanners installed to detect Windows viruses.

You can always build a better PC with a much lower price than if you bought something like a mac. It's fun and educational at the same time.

When I was looking to buy a computer around a year and a half ago, I could not buy the components for similar speced dual dual Xeon system for anywhere near as low as price Apple was charging for the Mac Pro.

I have several Windows/Linux PCs and an older Aluminum PowerBook G4 17. I like both of them but for different reasons. Whether you like a Mac or not really depends on your own personal preferences and what you want to do with the machine. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just pawing their opinion off as fact. If I were you, I would do a bit of research and find out if all the software you want to use is available for OS X, and then think about why you feel you would like a Mac better than your current setup.

Hmm.. I have never been a mac fan. I think the only way I would ever own a mac is if it was a gift or it was the staple computer used at a place i worked. I don't like macs, mostly since I am used to using PCs for the majority of my life and the majority of programs online and store bought seem to function better with PC systems. As such, I really don't think its worth the hassle to buy a Mac comp and deal with the difficulties. I will admit though that mac computers/laptops are pretty looking, but is that a reason to buy it? meh...

Once you start using one... you'll see that most of the difficulties are nothing more than mere adjustments to a more advanced OS, and its just not goodlooking on the outside, but on the inside as well...

Plus with a new Mac, you can have native Windows support tru bootcamp :P

My sister has one. I'm actually using it now. Got to say that the interface really impresses me. You have to get some time to get use to it specially if you have been a Microsoft user all your life (like me). But there's always the "bootcamp" feature so you can use windows OS also. I also like the fact that there's virtually no virus that can affect mac (so I've heard...). You can also use mac for programming. You just need to install Xcode. The only that I don't like about mac is the inavailabilty of software installers in our area because well...mac isn't that popular in our place. People still prefer windows. Anyway, I suggest you buy macbook pro (preferably silver or black) or if you want macbook air.

I don't really hate the actually laptop Mac, but I HATE Apple Inc.Many people missed out on studying the philosophy behind the technology industry. Apple is GREEDY, they refuse to outsource support of their operating system, because they want to earn the money alone as the sole driver of the development. Thats cause they downfall since 1986. If you don't get what i mean, just understand by ; there so many manufacturers of PC today( Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Alienware, Lenovo) and yet Mac is only Apple.

Secondly, Steve Jobs have no sense of ethic values. If you're in America, and watch TV frequently, the Mac commercial is difficult to miss. In the ad, Apple always portray itself being able to read foreign languages( and Microsoft cant) and draw( and Microsoft also can't), all the crap bullshit despite the fact the there are such thing call Adobe Photoshop thats works in Window and designers using PC outnumbers those using Macs.

Apple Inc has a unshameless tactic of selling though attacking Microsoft, just go to Apple's website now, under the features of OSX section you will be that every point drawn will draw in the negative points about Win Vista and point out superiority of OSX(If you go micros/' site you dont find a single 'mac' word). By Touting it self to be free of virus, It resulted in Leopard being the most vulnerable OSX ever, currently Leopard lead Vista 3 to 1 in progress of virus development(hope apple fans grasp the fact).

Lies, Thats what iHate( i patented that) about Apple. GO check you what Reality Distortion Field(RDF- wiki). Apple always pack apropiatory product, stick shiny cover over them and charge a premium over the product, all the while always touting itself as the grand innovator, wow, the pinnacle of technology( iphone isn't anyway new, but the hype is so great huh?)

Lastly, I hate the personality of Steve Jobs he is a god-damn hyprocrites. Before 2006, all Mac are using PowerPC CPUs by IBM, and so in all the talk Steve Jobs never fail to bash how lousy Intel and AMD processors are and PowerPC is the true performance, but then it turns out that IBM's CPUs becomesw so lousy that people starts to abandon Mac. So he switched camp to Intel, and you know what he says now ? Well, at Apple' site, you can really that, "with the introduction of Leopard, Mac can now utilize the true power of Core 2 Duo", crap bullshit, since Mac can't play game core spec don't affect it by much at all.

For any Mac fanboys that are gonna bash my comment, you're unlearnt in the field of real PC industry, since fanboys are smart enough to drink up Kool-Aid that Jobs serves and looks up to the "Gift-of-God" products Apple always procude, stick with the paperweights(Form over Function) and i hope u'll wake up some days.

iKnow iLove Shiny, Thin and Flashy Thing. Wow, its Mac !!1 *faints*

Can you post some sources for this. I've heard about various security vulnerabilities, but not viruses.

From 1995 - 1997 Apple let other manufacturers sell computers with Apples OS known as Macintosh clones, this is assuming your referring to the OS. So Apple did try this, though Steve Jobs stopped this when he came back to Apple as it was deemed a failure.

I agree with most of the comments on the adverts, I find them to be misleading. Though I don't get the US ones over here.

I think it's more about the interface and ease of use, than the technologies being new (it even uses EDGE over the faster 3G), though I can't think of any previous multi-touch screen phones.

As DeepDragoon stated, Apple tried licensing Mac OS in the mid 90s. It didn't work out because the licensees gave crappy support for their machines, which painted a bad picture of Mac OS, among other reasons.

I also hope that you realize that in order to license Mac OS X to other PC vendors now and sell OS X for generic PCs, they'd have to write drivers for every type of hardware under the sun, resulting in a bloated, unstable version of Mac OS X that is no better than its competitors. So there is actually a good reason for them not licensing Mac OS X.

..."with the introduction of Leopard, Mac can now utilize the true power of Core 2 Duo", crap bullshit, since Mac can't play game core spec don't affect it by much at all.

Incorrect, games are not the only applications out there that take advantage of multiple processors or cores. Thanks to Apple utilizing multiple processors in consumer computers before other companies even considered it (Apple started putting dual processors in their towers in July 2000), the vast majority of Mac applications these days are designed to take advantage of this extra power. This is in stark contrast to Windows, where the only programs to do that are games.

Your virus comment is also false. The only known OS X malware of any type are a few proof-of-concept viruses that never made it into the wild and one trojan horse that relies 100% on human stupidity. Most have had the vulnerabilities that they used fixed, and the trojan can't even run on its own - it requires the user to manually download it, open it, and give the trojan their name and password in order to work.

I use an iMac G5 at skool. bloody awesome. Just love it to pieces. shame i cant afford one >.<

The only 1 thing i found annoying was the program Dashboard that popped up when you pressed the scroll wheel when you click.

Btw, hasnt EA or some other company released Mac format games? I love Quake and all but a bit of variety would be nice lol.

Right now I have 2 Macs: 1 MacBook G4 and 1 MacPro Quad-Core. I used to have Windows PCs but they were always showing some new error and even after formating the OS one week later it was already slow and with errors (;_;) emoticon

Now I have a Mac and I love it. They are honest you with. For example if there is a problem in the OS, while you are using it, he doesn't wait for you to press Ctrl-Alt-Del 50 times to fix the problem, they just tell you to shut up the PC. (XD) emoticon
And of course in all my 2 years of experience I have only found 1 virus (with windows I was catching them all the time)

Well... if were to buy a Mac now I would buy the Macbook Air. It seems to be good choice

A few? Try a lot. I couldn't run AVG, Winamp, X-Fire, any of my games (yes I understand Macs aren't for games don't give me that counter-argument, I agree, you aren't gaming on a Mac), Maya, Diskkeeper, Alcohol, and Azuerus.

Touche my good friend. I understand that there is the ability to run windows based OS programs. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I've seen it done before with Windows being ran through OS X and then the programs, but I wonder how much processing that would chew up and to my guess it would be a significantly high amount, although I'd be very curious to see if I could be proven wrong. My previous speculation that Macs could not run the mentioned programs was the fact that none of the sites had a Mac OS X .dmg for it which was my reasoning to sticking to the very common .exe. This is why the Mac at my work place can never seem to run Winamp and I have to use the god awful iTunes for internet radio instead and that's like trying to ride a camel that suffers from back spasms through the desert. VLC is nice in that you can still get the Mac OS X download of it, which thankfully still makes it possible to watch anime on it. Anyway the point is I'm wondering how much processing power you're using doing that.
