Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

The thumbnail of my wallpaper "Onda Aka remixed" seems to be broken. When I go to the REC-gallery it looks like this:

User posted image

There is supposed to be my wallpaper in the upper left corner, in fact you can see the link (which is kind of messed up together with umboody's wallpaper-title), but no thumbnail. The link of the thumbnail (http://www.animepaper.net:8080/upload/thumbs/wallpapers/REC/%5Bsmall%5D%5BAnimePaper%5Dwallpapers_REC_IceHand_23740.jpg) leads to an 404-error-message.

Looks fine to me - I can see all the thumbnails. Have you tried refreshing your cache (hit ctrl+F5)? Or checking you're not blocking port 8080 (I think that's the one - skim through the threads as its discussed several times)?

No, it doesn't work. I already tried different browsers and I'm not blocking port 8080.
It's strange, but I can see the thumbnail on my userpage. I noticed that the thumbnail on my userpage and the broken thumbnail in the REC-gallery have different URL's:

The thumbnail on my userpage (works):
http://www.animepaper.net:8080/upload/thumbs/wallpapers/REC/%5Bsmall%5D%5BAnimePaper%5Dwallpapers_REC_IceHand_-edit7.jpg

The thumbnail in the REC-gallery (doesn't work):
http://www.animepaper.net:8080/upload/thumbs/wallpapers/REC/%5Bsmall%5D%5BAnimePaper%5Dwallpapers_REC_IceHand_23740.jpg

I am able to replicate the problem Icehand has noted.

Port 8080 is not blocked as confirmed via telnet. Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180 and Firefox 1.5.0.2 both give a 404 - Page not found error for that specific thumbnail.

Caches have been cleared and no ad-blocking software is in effect. A reinstall of Firefox has not corrected the issue.

It seems to me that the image is indeed just actually missing or the script is referencing the wrong location (one that doesn't exist mind you).

I'm not sure if this will work, but try reuploading your wallpaper by using the EDIT function.

If it still doesn't work, then I guess this will need to be solved on the developers' side as it is probably due to the thumbnail link not updated to reflect the new URL. Take note that this is just what I think and might not be an accurate depiction of what might actually be the cause of the borken image.

I just reuploaded my wallpaper, but the problem is still there (yes, I have cleared the browser-cache before trying).

Trismusgistus: Can you provide me a screenshot of the REC wallpaper gallery as seen on your browser? The image is broken on my side. From my end, it looks like a mismatch in the thumbnail ID number that is causing the problem.

Thumbnail image is broken

Refering to the image thumbnail ID in the userpage itself, I have replaced the "-edit49" with "-edit290"

Hmmm, this is odd - it was fine at home last night when I posted, but I'm at work now and it's broken. I'll check at home again tonight.

Uh oh, now I noticed the same problem that has been in the REC-gallery in the Yotsubato-gallery. The top left entry has a broken thumbnail:

Thumbnail works.

http://i3.tinypic.com/xd56wx.jpg

The only way a thumbnail image can be broken is when the thumbnail image ID does not match the wallpaper ID (bolded in red).

.../Yotsubato/%5Bsmall%5D%5BAnimePaper%5Dwallpapers_Yotsubato_flyindreams_ 24537.jpg

If the ID matches, then chances are that the problem is on your side. If it doesn't match, then let us know (please provide both the errorneous and correct ID to save us time). But do give some time before reporting as the problem might automatically rectify itself. Normal procedures like clearing cache, hitting Ctrl+F5 and also trying on multiple PCs is a must (as always) as a control measure.

I can replicate the issue here despite the IDs matching.

Standard troubleshooting (multiple browsers, cleared caches, hard refresh, no blocking software, port 8080 open etc) does not resolve the issue. As before it appears the issue is server-side... not client-side.

If you view source, the URL is as follows:

.../Yotsubato/[small][AnimePaper]wallpapers_Yotsubato_flyindreams_-edit89.jpg

User posted image

Thumbnail image works.

If you compare the URL provided by IceHand and the ones I have provided, you'll notice that my URL does not have the percent (%) symbol but instead uses the underscore in its place. Even the URL itself is totally wrong from the current format which uses:

[small][AnimePaper]wallpapers_( anime category)_( uploader's username)_-edit( image ID).jpg

Actually no... if I view the source it indicates a different file location:

http://www.animepaper.net:8080/upload/thumbs/wallpapers/Yotsubato/[small][AnimePaper]wallpapers_Yotsubato_flyindreams_24537.jpg

The %5 is html standard for a square bracket and depending on which program you use to view the source it may or may not automatically interpret it.

The problem as I see it is that the web server is serving pages with the wrong link. Having cleared caches and used multiple browsers and several computers in different locations rules out the possibility that this is a client-side specific issue. The only commonality between Icehand and myself in regard to this is the page being served and the server doing so.

However, the thumbnail images are loading fine on my side (when I view the Yotsuba gallery even after hitting Ctrl+F5 and clearing cache) as shown in the screenshot I posted earlier. So I am unable to pursue any further checking as I have exhausted all possibilities that I know of.

EDIT: I'm on Firefox 1.5 but have also tested on IE version 6.0.2900.2180 (which I rarely use other than image testing purposes). No thumbnail problems on my side.
