The red ring of death on xbox360

My brother, and two of my buddies all got red rings of death. Its a pretty safe bet to say that if you got a 360 on or near launch, then its gonna a'splode at some point.
Unless you were lucky enough to buy a good 360, or have bought a new model with the additional heatsink, I think it's safe to assume that you're gonna get the ring sooner or later.
I haven't gotten it yet, but I sent in my first 360 b/c it was scratching my discs. So hopefully the one I got back won't break anytime soon.

Yea I got the one combination of them that is unrepairable so they just sent me a new 360. Of course I kept the hdd. But I hear that a 3rd party company is coming out with a heatsink for the graphics processing unit (aka G.P.U) that apparently fixes most of the red rings of death situations.

It happened on my friend's xb360, but anyway, MS was extended the warranty from 1 year to 3 years, which is good

I buy a brand new xbox 360 and inmediatly put a another cooler inside of the machine

My 360 just got the ring of death a month ago.
At first it was just one ring, which means it wasn't under the new warranty...
But the next day i turn it on to see if it was still broken..... and then beam of light shines form heaven. 3 rings... my savior.... who would be happy that your 360 died?
Called in and it took about 4 weeks till a brand new 360 was delivered to me, totally free, manufacturers date only 12 days from delivery. works just fine now.

The first 360 i had gotten had the 3 red rings of death, but i returned it, got a new one, and it has been working ever since.. I'd say about 25 % of the 360's would have the red ring problem, but i can't be sure of that ;)

I think my 360 is getting close to kickin the bucket. Lately its been freezing alot and i even bought the little exhaust fan from best buy which helped tremendously. I figure, i bought the warranty from best buy, ill have them replace it. Problem is, you have to ship it to them in order to get the voucher. :(
It happened to me not long ago and it really annoyed because it just did it out of nowhere. i bought mine not long after it come out here in australia so it was from the early batch that really wasntdone very well.

get like a 20 dollar coolant thing for it and you should be good. Ive had every console out there never had a problem with any of them... maybe im just lucky or i just take care of them o_0

My brother used my 360 on the carpet while it was vertical and he stretched out his feet and knocked it over then he picked it back up. unfortunatley doing this while its playing scratches the living crap out of the disc so it doesnt work. luckily using a dvd repair kit like 20 times fixed it.
oh and for crying out loud dont bring up that stupid arguement about whether the 360 or ps3 is better! its just annoying hearing people argue about that.

I got the ring of death last night and it made me very angry i nearly kicked the console but i knew it was playing up as it froze alot while playing games and after 10 - 15 minutes of playing a game it kept on saying that there was a problem with the disk lucky MS introduced the 3 year warranty on the problem i think i am gonna have to give MS a call tomorrow and have the damn thing fixed there goes my entertainment for the next week or so.
