Who plays Guild Wars!?
1 Page: [ 1 ]
Of course, I don't want this to be a simple poll thread...
So, those of you who play guild wars, give us some useful information.
I want to see names of your most commonly played characters so we can say hi if we bump into each other.
I want to hear about your favorite builds.
I want to discuss tactics for defeating missions and the like.
I wish there was an event going on right now so I could jump to talking about that... oh well...
I'll start with my own introduction and we can go from there...
My best character thus far is a Dervish/Necromancer called "The Iron Lynx" (What else?)
Recently, I've been working on an Assassin/Warrior "Garrotter Yashamaru" (If you think the name is familiar then you've watched/read Basilisk)
Most recently, I've been looking for a better skill set for my warrior henchmen Koss, Is anyone out there veteran enough to suggest something I haven't thought of?

I have a ranger/mes level 20 Silent Woodsman, I started playing a month so he kinda sucks, haven't played in a while. did the first 5 missions, then got ran to Yaks Bend and Lions Arch.
I would like to try the game
though every time i see it in stores i can't be bothered to purchase it looks to be a good game though, i think guild wars 2 is going to be released soon or something so i might wait until then.

I have several characters but the two I have spent the most time with is my Monk/whatever you like (it has been all builds) - can even do solo.
My favourite is my Dervish/Elementalist set up as a Dervish Icy Fighter called Alisha Goldenhair. Most of my builds are curtesy of my husband who is married to GW I am sure. I havent been on much lately as other commitments ie work keep getting in the way.
Guild Wars is addictive, stimulating, challenging, frustrating and I love it.

I used to play a lot and have a level 18 Ranger/Monk named Moses of Jeronia. But I stopped when my hard drive crashed. I haven't reinstalled it because since I only have the original and Guild Wars 2 will be out soon, it just doesn't seem worth it. I don't have any items worth carrying over so buying the expansion pack to me would be wasting money. But Guild Wars 2 has me uber excited and I honestly can not wait for it. However I do not think I will be picking back up Guild Wars.
Lol... just for the record, if your best character was level 18, you didn't play a lot... you can't even get halfway into any of the games and not have reached level 20... but sorry to hear about your hard drive.
At this point, if you haven't been playing, you may as well wait for GW2... but if you've finished a couple of the games, the expansion seems like something to invest in.
I've overhauled my henchmen... and I'd be happy to share the concept of necro-healers to anyone who's interested. Turning Master of Whispers and Olias into necro-healers makes even the hardest areas of the game seem like a breeze.
I dare say I, too, will be addicted to this game for a while to come...
BTW... does anyone else feel gypped that there isn't an acolyte of Abbadon somewhere in realm of torment?? You'd think that there would be a margonite reaper somewhere so you could capture the avatar of Abbadon... Oh, well... Here's hoping it pops up in GW2

I actually just started playing GW. I got a bunch of friends together to purchase it, mostly people who quit WoW due to various reasons (mostly due to online fees) and we started a guild together. It also helped that GW Platinum edition came out. So far it has been really fun. GW is a really good MMO considering that you're not paying any monthly fees. It was done really well.
Regardless, my build is a Necromancer/Mesmerizer. No one out of our friends picked Necromancer so I decided to choose that. I'm surprised that most of my friends wanted to be Rangers.
