The First Episode
Since i'm not too far in the series i want to specifically talk about the first episode. When i first saw it i thought, what the...? Why is this so popular. I still haven't figured it out but lots o people judge an anime series by it's first episode. In the first episode all they do is talk about food. Not the most interesting thing. I heard it references other anime. It did remind me of Azumanga Diaoh in a way. What did you think of it as a way to start the series?
Personally I thought it was awesome at start. Maybe it was the catchy intro? I found their conversations were mildly funny too. And as the anime moved on to the next few episode is was still awesome. But somewhere around episodes 10-14 it did die down for me. Not sure why but in the end it got better my because of the Haruhi references?

After watching the first episode, I was about to drop it, but since it was produced by KyoAni I continued it. Fortunately it got better and I ended up liking it.

The entire conversation about the food between the four of then, is totaly out of sense.

I personally loved the first episode when it came out xD We were watching it together me and a couple more friends. We were immediately obsessed, repeated the opening like 3 times and watched the episode itself like three times. We just found it funny every single time... And still do =3
I personally didn't like the first episode too much, but I started to like it as it got later into the series, especially the part with the Animate owner lol
At first I was kinda stunned. I hadn't heard anything about this anime, but still, seeing as I had already began to watch it, I decided it would be a good thing to finish it. And well, after the first 5 or so mins of listening to them talk about food, and how they ate it, I started to think: "this is some rare, but good piece of anime!" Because well, everything I had seen so far would always go in the normal way, as in char introduction, plot, weird things happen, all is good/bad in the end, but I had no idea how Lucky Star was going to go on, so maybe just out of curiosity, I kept on watching XD.
Life without music just wouldn't be worth living.

I thought the first episode was a little slow, but the series did pick up in the following episodes, and the karaoke endings are absolutely hilarious! Listen to the Lucky Star Karaoke version of "Cha-La Head-Cha-La." I think it's at the end of episode 5. Funniest. Song. Ever.

Unlike some of the people here, I adored the first episode, as it makes several references to anime and pop culture that other types of anime are too scared to make.

Hm, yeah, the first one wasn't really nice, but it was ok. Hm, but the rest of the eps were quite good, right? My first ep wasn't the first, but ep 16 where there were the most Haruhi references, that's because my friend lent me that first, then only lending me the whole thing. And my second ep wasn't the first either, it was.....I don't know, but because the eps in the CD were all jumbled up, I watched jumbled up eps, hehehehehe. ^-^. When it almost reached the end where Shiraishi was told to get Mount Fuji's water, then the rest of the eps were in order, haha, it was good being that way, because that was the only part which needed a continuation. ^-^. So, the first episode didn't really effect me much, because it wasn't my first. ^-^.
Like a leaf that falls, you will too. But like a plant that grows, why not you do the same?

Its funny coz its just random everyday things, konata is such a cool character, how shes always playing online games, watching anime, reading manga and copying kagami's homework. lol
Personally, I thought the first episode was... er... weird. o0; If I hadn't heard such good things about it, I probably would've stopped. But I continued to watch it (I'm only up to episode 4), and I must say that it does get better. :D I wanna learn that dance they do in the theme song. X3

They are quite similar to each other but i think lucky star is funnier. but thats not to say that azumanga daioh isnt funny.

I don't really know if I liked the first episode.
It doesn't give me the LOL factor that Ouran did.
