This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I don't think I would do cosplay, but if I find a group of good friends and we have a cool theme, I just might give it a shot.
There is a problem with the image of cosplayers, because, frankly, most cosplayers are freaks and more into Anime than RL. I have been to a convention only once, but that and the people there were enough for me to not going to a con again too soon.

I love Anime Cons, but I would never Cosplay. Last time I went I saw some really crazy outfits. Like I seriously think that if someone's favorite character was to dress naked the fan would go cosplaying naked as well. I find it really odd and I saw some narsty outfits ><.

I would never dress up for a convention. While I like anime and all, I think that there would be quite a few fanatics there who may make me feel a little awkward. Like, I would try not to laugh at the people trying too hard to stay in character. I used to work as a body piercer and worked with the company owner, and we did a goth club one night a week. I actually used to go barechested with baggy leather jeans, and a spiked collar (I had many piercings and long hair then as well). While that can seem like the same kind of dress-up/roleplaying as cosplaying, it seems slightly different to me for a few reasons. I suppose the difference there was that I was working in that kind of environment, liked the sexual atmosphere there, and was seeking to be spanked by a corset-wearing freak. Being dressed up at a cosplay...hmm...I don't really know what I would be after or trying to do. But I think I would attend, dressed as my normal self.

I think it would be fun, but I'd only do it if I had the time and money to make a really good-looking costume. I've seen pictures of people who make costumes that are exactly like the ones in the anime, and I think that's really cool. But if I didn't spend a lot of time making a costume, getting all the little details right, I don't think I'd do it.

Something a little bit similar I guess is a yearly Renaissance festival I go to. I'm working on a Templar knight "costume" that I'm trying to make as accurately as possible. Chainmail making is actually a hobby of mine, so I'm going all-out because I want it to look as authentic as possible. I guess this is the same way serious cosplayers feel about anime conventions.

I think that is the game specially for those "youngs"
not everyone can do this
some one should be of particular temperament

There's nothing wrong with dressing up.. it's when people imerse themselves in another world / personality and assume you want to play along.. that freaks me out. This holds true for any fashion as well, goth or otherwise.

Apparently, I've seen people object violently against things such as anime because they think that it is very immature. This misconception can be said from the fact that US companies license some popular series and make it toned down for little kids to watch. Therefore, I've noticed that many people would think that anime and in fact dressing up as a character from anime would be stupid.

However, I personally have nothing against cosplaying because it's just like dressing up for halloween, but making things more interesting by adding variety to the different types of costume being worn. In fact for this coming Halloween 2006, the Game Development Club at my college wants to put together a costume contest. This way we'll get people to dress up more originally and break the montony of dressing up as a witch, devil, angel, etc.

I love cosplay, especially when you make your own costume. Some cosplay outfits I've seen are amazing and I'd love to be able to make costumes like that.

I'm going to the London Expo cosplaying as Rukia, it'll be my first time cosplaying and I'm really looking forward to it.

It's actually pretty simple, if you search around the net, you can find some awesome sites that really help. I found one which tells you what measurements you need to make a kimono. How to make a kimono. It's really useful as all I need to do is shorten the length of the kimono and that'll be the main black part of Rukia's outfit. Then I need to add the white and make the trousers. Trousers are pretty simple. I'm also making a Kon plushie to carry round with me x3.

Cosplay is awesome, when I've finished making my Rukia costume I might start on other projects for other conventions ^^.

It depends on who is cosplaying, to make a judgement.

I've seen some good cosplayers in my country (including some cute girls), and their outfits are great. But I've seen other distubing guys that... omg, I'd rather keep my opinion.

I've noticed cosplay is way better in other countries (U.S., Japan, some european countries). When Francesca Dani came to Mexico, and I saw her photos, my inmediate reaction was: 'O_O'.

So... cosplay can be good when properly done... and HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING AND AN INSULT if it's bad performed.

I cosplay but it is all just for fun above anything. I would never cosplay a character I know I could not pull off as some people do. As long asit isn't taken to seriously I see no harm in it.

Depends on how far you take it. Personally I've never cosplayed and I think it's quite freaky. I mean anime is one thing but to dress up like it is another. I wont lie I've seen a few good cosplays and then there are those really really bad ones. After seeing a bad one it turns me off to the anime they cosplayed for. So I guess I wont ever do it and yeah. I know it's all rambeling just dont know how to say what I want to say. :O
