Onegai Teacher Wall

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've made a wallpaper, and I'd really like to get your thoughts on this one. I've spent quite a long time on this, as the scan was completely redone in Photoshop with the pen tool (and a little eraser). My main concern is the background. I've kind of been drawing a blank on it, even though I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like when I started. Right now, it's a stock photo with a few filters on it, lots of brushing on top of that, and the curvy line with text above it. Maybe the problem I have with it is that it took a fraction of the time the main image did, haha.
Anyway, if you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it. In my opinion, the background looks rather plain at this point, and although I like it, I guess I'm not quite satisfied with it. Please tell me what you think! Thanks!

I have no problem with the vector (Hell, it's better than what i can do, Lol). The background is indeed plain. Perhaps you can put some sort of object on top of the brushed layer. A bird maybe, or something else natural, it's up to you. I do love the choice of colors though.
Thanks for the input Teresevo. I think I'm just going to take a couple days and see if an idea will come to me.

You should perhaps move the text up a little.
And like Teresevo said you should add something flying on the background... Something white probably...

Hi.
I like the color and the current shade, a lot, but I feel like maybe a darker shade (the wording needs an even darker shade) would help to build the contrast.
Night sky?
I don't like the bottom right corner being white,...

I think a more simple background would do your scan more justice, maybe keep the swirls behind the charachters, and tone down your background a bit, there's just too much and not enough going on in your bg right now at the same time.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Haha, I feel the same way, but I couldn't seem to put it into words.
Okay, so I've moved the text up; it really was too low from a design standpoint. I've toned down the background a bit so that more of the photo shows through (it actually was a picture of sky to start out with) and changed the bottom right corner. I couldn't think of any kind of image that I could put in that would look good while fitting the wallpaper theme and go with the series, so I added another white curvy shape. I think that it really helps to put focus on the scan. Also, I've got versions with and without the foreground. Of course, I'd like for as much of the scan to show as possible, but I'm not sure if removing that takes away too much or not.
Edit: I forgot to make note of another change. I recolored the outlines so that they're a darker shade of what they're outlining (instead of flat black). I think it makes a lot of difference.

I like the new versions...
And I prefer the one with the swirls
For the font... It's a bit fine... you should probably thicken it a bit... But it's a detail...
