1 Page: [ 1 ]
I have learnt my lesson from uploading my wallpapers straight to this site. (Got rejected a number of times. sobs)
So please C&C ^_^. Please tell me if its good enough to post into the site.
Comments: I was trying out some textures I found (very lovely credits to the texture artist!) and some scans here and there.

@silvermyst : Everybody can give advices about a wall cause everybody have eyes and heart! ^_^
about this wall : you need to host it on a different hosting site cause you wall is actually 800x600 and it's probably the responsibility of PhotoBucket... The resize the images hosted on their site... Try out www.imagesharck.us.
The minimum required size is 1024x768.
The background looks pretty nice at first but those "lines" on the middle buildings, this yellow texture don't look fine. Tyr to remove it.
Also around the left character, you have some artifacts of the old background or the scan... You really need to remove those.
The scan on the right looks strange cause we can't really see his face properly.
The font and the text fit pretty well the background so you make a good point on that.
But let's wait till the upload on an other site to comment more! ;)

Hopefully your actual version is bigger than 800x600 and photobucket resized it. If that's the case, upload it to ImageShack (not ImageSharck ^^) and repost a link.
As far as commenting on the actual wall itself, I like the theme, and the text works well. However, it seems a bit cluttered with the two scans. Maybe just one or the other (I like the one on the right) would draw your attention more, especially if you made the face a bit more visible. Good job, keep it up!

Thanks alot for your comments!
zazou888: yeah i resized the texture from a quite small image and the texture itself has the linings >_<. i should really start thinking on smoother wallpaper/graphics next time @w@
keco : i was trying to cover the rugged linings of my amature cutting from photoshop XD;;;. i can't quite remember how to cut smoothly... should i put abit of feather before cutting? when i was working part time in a bridal shop there was a way to cut it smoothly without feather, but i can't recall >_<
silverymist: yea its a buckle and a wolf emblem. (didnt realise it was blur).
i'll upload the new one to image shack once i find out how to fix the wallpaper ^_^

Note : you can't double post on AP Session Zero so you should wait till the next version of your work to answer to people... Cause if not, if nobody post after you, you gonna have to post a new thread about this wall...
did you use the pen tool to cut your scans?
did you use the pen tool to cut your scans?
When I cut stuff out, I usually use the pen tool (I'm a big fan of the pen tool haha). Just copy the scan layer and trace along the outside of the outline of the character, then go way off to the side and come back to the beginning (you're basically making a line around what you want to cut out) then you can right-click and do "Make Selection" and hit delete.
Other people use polygonal lasso tool or a soft eraser, but you just have to find what you're most comfortable with. Also, if the edges still look too hard after you've cut it out, there's a little trick that might help.
Control+click on your extracted scan layer in the layers menu. This selects everything on the layer, namely, your scan. Go to Select > Modify > Contract and contract by 1 or maybe 2 pixels. Then do Select > Inverse, followed by Select > Feather by 1 pixel, then hit delete. This should give a softer edge around the scan (if I typed everything correctly haha). I wouldn't advise using this too much though, as it can make the scan look a little blurry.
Well, I hope what I said helped, and good luck with your wall!
