Anyone played .hack//G.U.? and if so did anyone play the original 4 .hacks?
any opinions on the games? personally i love the .hack series so i can't find any bad points except for maybe the slowness in the beginning of the games, but otherwise i think they're great

Well I play the all .hack series.
yeah the game kind of slow but I think only the previous .Hack series.
the new .hack g.u is a faster and kind of easier then .hack.
And I say I love more of .Hack graphic then .hack g.u graphic.
the story does interest me, well that one reason why I'm still playing the game.

It's hard to finish the ryu book
I heard from my friend,if we finish one of the ryubook(I don't know which one)
we can get a flower card gift

I spent most of last night finishing all the sidequests, like re-playing the AIDA fights and finding Salvador Aihara to get all the wallpapers. Now that my Ryu Book is finished, I'm ready to start on /hack//GU 3 this afternoon.
I'm really liking the story, and I can't wait for Tabby to be introduced!

Im view the serie and play a litle of the first game,its not so good but for fans of the seire uts very great game
Actually, judging from your opinions it would seem as if it's a worthwhile game, but the reviews are so low. Could someone care to discredit the reviews and inform me as to how this game ranks with other RPGs?
Hack//gu is all fun probably cause they got a lot more to offer than the previous one. the story can keep you hook straight till the end and battle system and game speed improve much. the graphics is also improved and the characters were all fun to play. plus, they have good soundtracks to make it interesting.
yeah, they also have lots of side quest and some secrets plus lots of unlockables. although, much of the secrets aren't to heard to figure out but takes time to complete though. plus, every sequel offers more characters and great new options. the avatar battle as well is pretty interesting and some time addictive.

I beat the 2nd GU a little while ago, now i just have to tie up some loose ends (doppelganger, One Sin) and ill be ready for the third. i have the first four, i havent finished them yet, the fourth one at least, i stopped on the final part i had to go and collect the virus cores and i didn't really feel like spending hours to collect 7 virus cores
I've played all the .hack. I really enjoyed this game because I found the way they faught really cool then. I like Kite and elk more though because I hate endrance because of some bad things you won't need to know. Overall, I like the whole hack series and mostly everything about it.

You mean me? You have to finish the Ryu Book in Vol 1 otherwise you'll never get it in Vol 2. As for Vol 3, i don't know whether there will be a Flower Gift or no.
I've never completed the monster list; it's hard to find different kind of monsters without a walkthrough. =()
Anyway, you don't need to be complete 100% (meaning 100% here is the lists quest. You don't need to get the whole items, weapons, armors,etc) to get the goods (BGM, walls,greeting cards, etc)and level up your guild.
Btw, try to beat the Blacklists (Chaotic PKs) in Vol 1, you'll get a rare weapon if you do
NOTE: This weapon can't and will never be found in Vol 2 except if you use a GameShark

It's Greedy Cervantes.
I met him when i was just around level 20 or so. Damn, he beat my party fast but the third time i met him, i decided to use those magic items and it worked >_<
Anyway, the fastest way to meet these blacklist is to visit non-storyline areas. If you're lucky, you might even meet two PKers in an area (mostly dungeons)
If you're lazy to open the walkthrough, maybe you should try punching some different area wors. Make sure it has various elements; maybe it could work.

What's your level? If you're still around 20-30 then you're dead (especially without those magic items)
Anyway, the blacklist in vol 1 are still a cake. I heard they got pretty tough. One of them seems to be wearing a Null armor; no damage no matter how strong you are!
