Is it Worth It
Is it worth getting a job at an early age. Because you are more into your school and ready for middle or high school and college. Plus you have SATs, sport and homework. And does it help you with your life skills??
In a sense yeah, critical thought is one of the skills you learn from working life, in the end you do benefit from it, trust me on that.
That depends... how young are you?
It's never too early to learn about the true value of money. Getting a job when you're younger helps you appreciate how much work it takes to make money, and therefore whether or not something is worth spending your money on. Not to mention budgeting skills definitley don't grow overnight, and when you get to college you're going to have to put those skills to practical use, if not sooner.
I didn't get a part time job until my sophmore year of college. I really wish I had gotten one sooner. A job teaches you things you can't really imagine. It'll teach you communication and responsibility. It teaches time and schedule maintenence. It'll show you how rewarding it can be to complete a task and earn a paycheck.
But then, you should enjoy your youth while you have the chance. I miss my child & young adulthood.

It's not worth it...
i don't think you can make everything in time...
it either work or school...
but summer jobs are ok...
plus many people work when in college, that is normal if you ask me... i just wouldn't work while still in high school...

Get a job as a way to actually have experience on your resume. As you get into college, you can internships that deal specifically with your major. You'll gain communication experience, and maybe it will guide you to the type of job you actually want.
Working should not be too hard as a high school student. Balancing everything shouldnt be too hard. As a college student, I have very little time to get a job. I'm too busy studying and making sure my GPA isn't shit by the time I graduate. I will be getting an internship eventually though.
I never felt the gratification of earning my paycheck. The pay is too low to feel anything. The work is also menial and boring. You cant really expect to get a good job as an adolescence.

Yup, it's a cruel world out there
The earlier you start, the better
And if you are gifted with the silver tongue, it's all for the best ;D

Starting earlier is better even if you have school. better to learn time management. there's enough time for both work and school and even a bit of social life if you can manage it well. comes into handy in college.
Hmm. if you like d job, so what??
money is IMPORTAANT..^. heheh
well i'm not working until now

That would be tough if your work at the same time you do lots of school stuff..I like to have a job in my early age cause I want to have profit money..in that way I can help my parents too, like when I need to buy school materials I can use my money, or I'll use my money if I need to buy clothes for me or things I needed..cause you know I'm already felling pity to them..because life today too things that are being payed.. high bills to pay and things that are bought for our daily foods and house needs..so its worthy to have job even at our young age..but its your choice anyway if you want to do jobs and you have your own reasons too why you want to have jobs..
It depends on if you know how to balance your time ((between study, work and freetime))
I'm 15 with a job and a great highschool career. I keep the money to save for a car, college, and just to have extra savings when I can leagally leave the house to strike out on my own.
I find no problem in what I do and it's certainly worth it to feel secure and self-sufficient in a small sort of way.
But better small than not at all.

Fifteen year old working for a car and money to move out. People really should live off their parents a little bit longer. Also for a car? You are 15, you don't need everything now. If your parents won't pay for your college education, and you dont qualify for financial aid, GL with your loans. At the very least, I hope you get a cheap car and not a new car.
I really have the sneaking suspicion that despite people here saying they have jobs, a high majority of the people here does not know the value of money. My mom didnt know the value of money and she worked 12 hour days for 5 days a week. It was only after she quit her job did she realize the value of money. When all you have to do is work and get money and buy all the stuff you want, you don't learn the value of money. When you work and have to pay for your clothes, car insurance, gas, food, books, etc, you learn the value of money.

Job is a must. Get out of your parents wallet! What you should realize is, that even though you have a job, your education right now at a young age is more important. So don't sacrifice your education for your minimum wage job. But it's good to just get out in the world and get a feeling for society. Learning the value of money is crap, as that comes with time, but you learn to function outside your comfort zone with friends and family.
Besides. a little extra cash never hurt anyone. Bottom line is, if you look at your schedule now, and find that you ahve some extra time that you can spare... then find a job. If you dont like it... then just quit. Simple as that.

I believe it's worth it, it's good to be able to experience the working life before stepping into the real world. The purpose of studying is to get a qualification and get a job.. isn't it? (:
Hope that will be alright o__o
