Seroisuly... Japan is like that?
Well, I post this forums of telling you about questioning about the life that is being lived in Japan.. in the anime or manga I have seen (a few...well, 2 or 3 ¬¬) the places and the environment look so peaceful, and the people is extremely kind and everything... also fights aren't seen too much (excepting the FIGHTING anime-manga). Would you like to live in that Japan? How is the real Japan? Has anyone from Japan can tell us? Is your city like that? Well, post something paper people!

Well i have never been to Japan but i heard from a friend who go there often that it is quite like it on some point but not to beleive you'll see everything as in manga or anime.
Neither am I man but doesn't it seems like a really good place to take a vactions? But then comes the alter-ego of anime-manga Japan... noisy images, A LOT of neon lights, funny commercials without trying to be, and all the other side of Japan...a weird place, huh?
You're bound to find quiet and loud places anywhere you go. Japan is sorta like what you have stated, but honestly, where do you live that has lots of "fighting." I live in Los Angeles and I rarely SEE fights and its quiet and peaceful most of the time.
I would say Japan is nice to take vacations, but asian weather is death for me. The humidity is nasty.

Jajaja good ponit man... really LA is so pacific? i didnt know that ...
I never went to japan, as we all hear, it is over populated, i did read from a magazine something really amazing, and it is true of course, christmas for japanese is rather equivalent to valentine day, rather than spending time with family and all, people would rather take their partner to date at restaurants and all, the magazine i am talking about is called anime insider, you should check it out, it let you wonder how japan looks like, as for my country, i would say that the last decades have been really violent, murders and stuff everyday everywhere, i am not kidding or making fun, even if i do not watch news, there is not a week where you do not see someone's picture on the newspaper while crossing the supermarket where the title would be related to murder or some other criminal reason. I know what you are thinking, what kind of country it is, to tell you the truth i do not really know, i just do not get involve until i can do my way out of this hell
Dont worry man you sometime will get out of that place...maybe you can go to Japan! it seems like its holidays are very variated and everybody takes part of them... Chrsitmas without family? That is weird but right haha

Safety is a sort of relative state of mind. I live fairly close to Philadelphia (which has a very high crime rate), and while there are some neighborhoods I'd never walk through again, much of the city seemed perfectly safe as far as I could tell. Compared to most countries Japan is pretty serene. It has crime, and gangs like anywhere else - and with 30 million people living around Tokyo you're going to get pretty much everything. Although Japan still has one of the lowest murder rates.
But what about suicidals?

I'd love to live in Tomeoda City in Card Captor Sakura, because it;s such a great neighborhood.
I doubt its the same as in Anime, there isn't a completely peaceful country in this world.
I actually just got back from Tokyo a few weeks ago. I was studying there for 2 weeks, so we saw pretty much most of Tokyo, and a little bit outside. here's what i can tell you about what i saw in my 2 weeks, and what i studied up on before i headed over.
The crime rate is really low, but the suicide rate is really high due to pressure in academics and the career world. We stayed in ginza, which is the equivalent to beverly hills. It was a really nice and clean area, and everything was closed at like 9. something we weren't used to coming from the states. The people were really nice and friendly, even though we were foreigners. I had always heard that they were really mean and cold to foreigners, and yeah they totally could have been making fun of us behind our backs, but they were very warm and friendly. Especially when they saw we at least made an effort to be respectful, as well as we all spoke a little Japanese.
As for actually being like an anime? i would say the closest anime to the reality that I experienced in Japan was Karekano (kareshi kanojo no jijou/his and her circumstances) in terms of what the area looked like, and the feel it gave off. We went to a lot of parks and museums all of which were really nice and peaceful, and once again, very friendly.
What amazed me was even if there was a language barrier, they were totally there to help you. They could have thought we were just rich foreigners and wanted our money, but considering my friend dropped 10,000 yen, and the guy ran out of the store and chased her 2 blocks to give it back to her, i kind of doubt it.
One thing anime doesn't even come close to showing though, is how crowded it is. Yes, they actually DO have someone who shoves people onto elevators and escalators, because it happened to me.
But no, i wouldn't say japan is like the movies. It's pretty damn safe, really freaking clean, and very respectful, but not at all like anime. although i could totally see the costume design and stuff in anime being taken from harijuku.
It's an awesome place to visit, but i could never live there. although i totally wish i could have brought one of those vending machines home. they are amazing.

Uh huh. That sounds nice to me too. My opinion is it is pretty peaceful besides some perverts but what state or city or even country doesn't have perverts. There are alotta people in Japan however but it does sound very nice to me. ^_^
Never been to japan, but I heard it has one of the highest suicide rates.
