Movie based Games
I have yet to actually find a decent movie based game XD
Generally its a horrible idea to make games off movies. my reasons bad game play dull missions and glitchtacular. 
About Enter the Matrix.
That's... a really hard case to analyze. I must admit the game is ultra fun, if you just want a game where you can beat the crap out of your enemies, and bullet time attacks can be cool and all that, plus all the high value productions involved in this product:
-Filmed cutscenes with the actors of the movies (and yes, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who loved the Niobe and Persephone kiss scene).
-Voice acting by all the Matrix actors.
-Scenarios and backgrounds directly taken and represented loyally in 3D.
-A story that actually makes sense with the entire Matrix movies.
But gameplay tended to be too boring after some time of playing it... and I don't know if this happens in the Gamecube or PS2 versions, but the XBox version has a lot of ridiculous stuff which makes it unplayable sometimes:
-The game freezes.
-The game sometimes doesn't want to load certain locations of the game.
It was very frustrating :/

To me it always seems like a bad idea because it always feels as though video game developers half-ass the games when they're based on movies simply because they're relying on the people who liked the movie to move the product rather than relying on actual decent gameplay.
I noticed that Enter the Matrix and LOTR games were said alot so here are my views. First ETM isnt horrible and yet wasnt good i did like the hacking system because if you did it right you could play fun mini games and have the feeling of acheivement that yea i could hack. The rest of the game was clunky didnt load right and glitched more then anything. LOTR games were all good except the first one and the rest were too short for my taste.
Our world is our own to grasp, so why don't we?
Whenever they change a movie into a game, it will probably suck. the same applies to vice versa. My eyes bled when i saw that final fantasy: the spirit within.

I think the riddick game for pc and xbox is one of the best ever made a bit short but it was better then the movie

Movie-based games typically suck because developers need to rush the game out to coincide with the release of the movie.
Rushed development = Crappy game
Rushed development = Crappy game
Its not as bad as movies from games... Think of Final Fantasy the Spirits within... nice visuals, not so nice movie...

Reminds me of anime to games, most of them sucks. I tried playing constantine cause I thought it was great but it sucks from FMV to controls to the gameplay itself.
Well to be honet movie based games are not always that hot..just cuase people dont find them attractive or challenging enough to beat y aknow...lol...like the spidermsan games for the ps2 our not that good..but now that you think about it...could it be targeted for younger gamers? lol..

Well recently I've played the TMNT game based off the mvie and it was pretty dull and bad for me since it was too kiddish for me. But I do look foward to the Spiderman 3 game tho it looks great

Movie based games sucks ,because they are just made for profit and they always follow the original movie storyline ,so the you always know before how to solve the puzzles and find the hints

Usually, I do not like games based on movies. I feel like the game is rushed to be released with the movie. I have to agree that LOTR's game was not bad.
