[Anime Discussion] Mai-Otome
Was really NOT expecting the ending to be like that. First of all, they brought in Mai just because her name is in the anime? She played no significant role, and can be easily replaced. Then the final battle wasn't really a battle as well, I think they fought harder in previous battles, like when Arika first fought Nina to try to qualify to be an Otome.
Overall not bad, but since this is some sort of a sequel - not really, just ported the characters - to Mai-hime, I was expecting something better.
If I had only watched this anime and not Hime, I think I would have given it a higher rating.
But I do like the materialising portion. I ain't no Sailor Moon fan but it's still fun to wait for them to change to their robes.
Overall not bad, but since this is some sort of a sequel - not really, just ported the characters - to Mai-hime, I was expecting something better.

I admit I did like mai-hime a lilttle more then this, but even still it was a powerful series with an interesting spin off of mai-hime. So, if you liked mai-hime I would recommend mai-otome. To me it seems that they replaced school politics with national politics, and shuffled a few characters around a little bit in the storylines focus. Personally, I thought the ending was quite good making the series well done over all.

I've seen the whole season of Mai-Hime and i liked it... i was about to start watching Mai-Otome but i had to watch others ones before starting that anime, i really hate they dont use the main character as from the first season, they doing almost the same as Onegai Teach and Onegai Twin, i really didnt like how that was worked out, it just annoys me :P ill try to watch it when i can, hopwfully it wont be too bad :P
Over all i love this anime it gets a 8.5/10 but it didnt live up to Mai HIME i felt a little let down by the direction that they chose to go, adding different main characters and throwing in the old ones but once i got over that i was able to enjoy this anime and even more so when i got to see Mai again kicking ass!

I think i like this more than mai hime..duno why
mai hime started out better though..but kinda got worse
but mai otome stayed good till the end

Lol mai hime and mai otome, both i used 1 day to finish them, this explain how good it is in my opinion, dunno why, i like those complicated relationships between the princess lol, and wat did they attack for mai hime? the dearest ones , for mai otome, they attacked the friends, i think it is a hell good anime, if you let me choose mai hime or mai otome, i would choose mai otome..hehe
