Soukyuu no Fahner: Dead Aggressor
Anyone else seen it? I've just finished watching it...I bought the boxset a few days ago coz they were having a discount on this anime.^__^
The story seems pretty good.It has 25 episodes.The characters look almost the same as the characters in Gundam...thats coz its from the same makers of Gundam.Songs are pretty good too.There's also a prequel of this anime, which is "Soukyuu no Fahner: Right of Left" and i've also heard rumours about the sequel..The sequel takes place a year later from the last episode.

Fafner is a good anime. very strong and serious. Not an anime with much humor or anything to brighten the atmosphere. It is a VERY deep and serious anime but it is still pretty good. To me, it is like Evangelion. Watched the prequel and it was okay. Where did you hear the rumors of the sequel?

Yea i own all the episodes but yea only know of the 'Right of Left' special that they're airing

Really??! There will be a sequel? Woah!! I can't wait. Actually I'm a little bit disappointed from the prequel, but it did explained a lot of thing afterall, so I can't say that I don't like it...
But a sequel! That's definetely the most great thing ever next to whatever I liked lol.

I´m currently watching the series, but I`m only at episode 11 yet. So far it is a good show, but the other end of Human Race shows (Rahxephon and Neon Genesis) were mor facinating. Anyway I enjoy it. The Right of Left Special is 50 Min (there is already a DVD on eBay), I will watch it after I have finished the Series.
Yes, I've seen it. It's one of my favorite mecha anime (maybe one of my favorite anime period). I think its strong points are character development, drama, and the way it maintains an atmosphere of hope even in the midst of tragedy. Admittedly, the latter quality doesn't become apparent until you're well into the series. It develops its own themes with a strength that rivals RahXephon and Evangelion, IMO, although it lacks the consistent polish of those two anime.
It could be argued that Fafner makes up for being rough around the edges with its surprisingly strong and wrenching emotional impact. But I imagine that not all viewers can swallow the high level of drama and the onslaught of tragic events. It's worth noting, though, that Fafner becomes much more subtle as it goes along, and its writing improves significantly in later episodes. The angst of the first eight or nine episodes isn't really representative of the show as a whole.
Soukyuu no Fafner: Right of Left has high-budget visuals and extremely good writing. I'd go so far as to say that even people who feel lukewarm about the series might get some enjoyment from it.

I have only seen the first episode, but I think it`s a great anime. When I watched it, I liked immediately the "childhood-story" with Kazuki, Soushi and the other kids...... ^.^° ......
Yeah`i saw it all, not my favorite kind of anime, not much of a mecha fan, but still i think is way better than evangelion, at least the main character aint crying like a sissy all the freaking time.
Just so you know, some of the producers of Evangelion helped make this anime. That's why there's a sort of philosophical view to this anime as well. The animation of course was done by the drawers of GSD and GS. However, I wouldn't really make a connection between Soukyuu no Fafner and GS series. Other than the fact the characters look somewhat similar.
As for my thoughts on this anime, I thought this anime was very deep and achieved what it wanted to let the audience feel. I somewhat identified with the main characters and their plight. The music was beautifully done, and the story was somewhat decent. Although I found that the concept was a spinoff of Evangelion's"Angels", with Soukyuu no Fafner's "Festums". I saw the sequel and it was equally good as well. If there is said to be a sequel, then it would be interesting how the story would continue.

Has anyone seen the recent Soukyuu no Fafner: Right of Left OVA yet? It has the same desparate feeling that the original series had towards the end, but i like the pace of it much more. Definitely check it out, if you get the chance. And no, you don't have to have watched the series before watching the OVA, imo.
I havent seen the ova yet, am planing to watch it soon. i liked the seres not a good as some and a little hard to fallow at times, but it was fun to watch. a sequil would be good.
Um sorry guys.I kinda lost the link to the place where i heard about the rumour of the sequel.It was from a website that i visited a few days ago. So we'll just have to wait till the official news comes out.But im pretty sure there is a sequel...^^;

Some time ago, i showed this title a friend of mine and.. HE FELL ASLEEP! U___U i guess there is type of anime for each one ^^u and Fafner is more than the mix: "humor+fanservice+bishies=standar anime"
