OVAs
Sorry if this is an unnecessary thread, but I want to know if there are any OVAs worthy of watching. I've looked around but I want some recommendations. As for my preferences, I can watch basically any genre. OVAs, movies, anything that is not a series of 12 episodes or more is what I am asking for.

Hmmm... you can try Top O Nerae! 2 or Super Robot Wars:Original Generation for mecha genre.
Some of the romantic and science-fiction genre : Saishuu Heiki Kanojo and Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu. :)

OVAs are usually not as good as the series, but i think School Rumble OVA was pretty good.I've just finished watching it. ^^ There's two episodes and its just as good as the series.

Some OVAs are great and some not so great. I loved/recommend School Rumble, Armitage i, Battle Angel Alita, Ichigo 100%, and Read Or Die.

Vampire Princess Miyu wasn't bad, I bought them actually. Was told the series itself sucked 
But the OVAs were quite good, I really liked the Doll Demon thingo... yeah I don't know what I'm talking about XD
Hmm the only other OVAs I've seen are Happy Lesson and Ah! My Goddess, neither interested me. Happy Lesson was cute though.

OVAs are great if you don't want a lot of time committed to an entire anime series. Sometimes, they offer more seriousness and/or violence just because they're usually not shown on television. Also, the animation quality is much higher as well. I'd recommend Read or Die OVA (much better than the tv series), The Petshop of Horrors, Mermaid's Scar OVA, Please Save My Earth, the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs (which were also better than the series) and Furi Kuri.

OVAs? I recommend Pale Cocoon and Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho. School Rumble OVA if you are in the mood for laughs, as well as FLCL. You can always try Hellsing Ultimate. It just released, especially if you were fond of the series. Rurouni Kenshin OVAs are also nice to watch. Perfect Blue for a nice thriller. Grave of the Fireflies if you want a tragic and depressing show.

I've just downloaded the Hellsing OVA, but with french subtitles, so I don't really get what it is about. Can anyone tell me about it? It is really different looking from the anime series I think. Other OVA's I've seen is, Rayearth, One piece, Fake, X/1999, Gravitation etc.

Watch the Ruruoni Kenshin Reminscence OVA (it's 4 episodes) It used to be rated as the #1 anime on animenfo. Definitely worth a watch.
The OVA which is nice is just decided by your fav kind of anime.I know some nice OVAs,just introduce those:

Usually i watch ova after i watch the series...
but some ova is the only release for its title...
so.. can't help with that...
i like Ichigo 100% OVA..
cause its kinda like series...
may be perfect to fit into the series itself...

OVA... well it depends on what king you like but i suggest... Naruto.
Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket is a terrific OVA, if you like Mecha/War Animes you should check it out. I also can recommand the Vido Girl Ai OVA, it it very nice.

Ovas's... mmm... HUNTER X HUNTER (greed island and G.I final).., Magic knight Rayearth, Prince of tennis, SCC , Rurouni Kenshin, King of bandit Jing... etc... i can't remember more...
