This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

~the characters design
~the opening or ending songs
~you read the manga

Usually I see it in a magazine and either I think the drawings or title look/sound cool or something. Sometimes I read the manga and hear/see there's a anime going to be made so i watch it.

I usually see the characters designs first, then i try to find a review or something and then i try it myself. There are a lot of animes i only saw the first episode because of this. Mostly if i didn't liked the first episode i leave it there.

I would have to say the first ep counts for everything for me. If i think the next ep is worth watching, i tend to get addicted. :P

At first I look at the character design.
And then I try to find out more about the story.
If I like the design and the story, then I'll watch the Anime for sure^^

First thing I look at will be the character designs. 90% of the anime I watch are usually based on that ^^; The next thing will be the genre. Comedy/Drama are the ones I like more for anime. Then I'll probably read reviews and summaries for the anime too see if they sound interesting enough to make me watch em =3

Characther design and if I have read in a magazine that it is a good anime, that is most important for me.

First thing off, the art. Even if it's well-executed and has a good plot, I don't feel it's a good watch if it's an eyesore. It has to have good character design. That's the most important element for me. Second, the plot. It takes a lot to keep me interested for a while. The music's also pretty important.

First the character design, then the kind(if it's shoujo i won't be much interested, but if it's shounen i'll be interested), then the plot \o\

Mostly my friends tell me about new animes. Like: "Oh, have you seen the XYZ anime yet? It's gorgeous!" I have an endless list of "must watch" animes, and every day theres something new to discover. From time to time, I buy the "Newtype" at a local anime shop. But its very expensive :/
When it comes to Manga, I like only a few. It has to be the right storytelling, but I can't describe what it is exactly that attracts me. Of course, the character design is one aspect. But the mangas I read have a big range of different styles, so I can't say that I stick to a special style. What I don't like is the typical "girl meets boy" story. There has to be something deep in the story. Something that makes you want to read a story, that makes you long for the next page, for the next edition.

When I'm looking for manga, the first thing I look at is the animation. Without good pics, I don't think I'd be able to stand reading it. Next, I check what the book's about. Romance usually attracts me, that and action... and romance. XD After, I'd check to see if I knew the author, and if I knew the author and liked their mangas, then Cha-ching! Then I'd read the back. You know, what the book's about. That is unless the title of the book gives it away. Then it's kinda pointless to go through reading it. To me, it's all about giving the love, man. X3
Feel like I just wrote an essay. T.T

The characters design, the voice actors and actresses, the reviews in mangazine and the recommendations by friends will attract me to watch an anime.
