Understanding: The Spammer
Hello everyone!!
Well, i have noticed quite a few spammers in AP. And i was just wondering why they do it. I mean, why to just simply post irrelevant things for no reason?? And just keep on posting the same things over and over agian.
What good is it of?? Is there a specific and valid reason for this sort of behavior?? This is not just restricted to AP only. There are spammers in other places aswell.
I was just wondering about this, maybe this is a really stupid question but i just wanted to know.

Spamming for some people is an interesting thing to be done. Me too, sometimes I love spamming, but not in this forum. My second forum provide a place for spamming without a risk to be banned. I usually do it if I'm bored or want to type but don't have a topic to be posted. ^^ But I know, there are many reason why the people like spamming, the one is like me, maybe. ^^ But I still hate spam if the spammer does it on the wrong place(like in this forum. ^^), but it it's done in the right place, we're the same. ^^

I do think that people spam, (here in AP). First, because they are not afraid with the warnings given by this site. And maybe they don't understand english well enough to understand the guidelines.
E.g
Second, because some people want to make the moderators and administrators sick. Yes i know because I was able to talk to spammers.
Last (i think), because they are just lazy to post and participate in a positive way.
But, it would really be accurate if some spammer would post it here.

Short explanation - Gimme Attention!
People want to be noticed, and what faster way to do that than to be "the rebel". A lot of people will kinda hate a person for it, but said spammer do get what they want - attention. They instantly stand out from the crowd.

That maybe right. Or probably they just got bored or things like that.But still,gaining attention like that won't give positive attentions. All they got are "negative attentions" especially from the mods
I thought they just want papers, not attention :/.
As for other forums, usually its an attack against the forums, a spambot advertising some ridiculous scamming product, etc.

I don't realy know why some people do that..at first it can be funny but it just gets anoying... but i guess there diffrent reasons.. maybe 'cus they're bord, they want to show off so that we see only them.. maybe to piss off mods and admins just so they get more work to door just 'cus they are just weird and don't want to follow rules...
what makes me laugh it's when someone is trying to piss off a mods and then they get banned.. i'm sure that there's some people that dose competitions to see who the one that gonna get banned from the most sites XD some people realy have time to wast...

There are two main reasons why spammers spam, I believe. Firstly, spamming increases your post count, and I have been going on forums for some time now, and one thing I realized is how important post counts apparently are for some people, so they break the rules to obtain a higher post count. The more post count you have, supposedly your a more active member, and you start becoming more well known. And its probable that their ultimate goal, is gaining popularity and to be known by all of the other members.
The second reason on this site, is for paper.
They want to download more wallpapers and scans, and when there paper runs out, they want more of it back, and fast. Spamming is the fastest and easiest way.

C'mon!! Get 'negative' attention from mods??! What kind of a idiotically, foolishly stupid person would want to get negative attention from mods and/or admins!!

And it is very rightly said. That it is not the quantity that counts, it is the quality. (Although there are always exceptions...like money needs both!! haha!! XD XD)
We even have a whole thread dedicated to that saying!! No, seriously, we do :P
So, even if someone has 20000 posts under his/her belt but all are spam, then it is utterly useless. But if someone has just 2 posts which are very original and proper, then that is of much more importance and is much better than the 20000.
It is better to have a class of just one sincere student than to have a class full of hooligans/uninterested students. :P

Here on AP it seems to have a purpose (getting wallpaper privileges back), but on other sites the only reason would be to have a high post count. Like on IGN people tend to listen to the people who have five stars next to their name. Overall it just seems like a waste of time to me.

Seriously you gota admit spamming is fun. Spam happens usually when a person reaches unbearable depths of boredom or loneliness. Spamming is yet another desperate cry of attention, shouting listen to me because no one ever does. I mean there is are two types of spammer, the annoying ones who do it to piss everyone off for their own delightment, and those who are just seeking attention due to continually being ignored. I think everyone has spammed before, I mean its like a disease you see some one spam then you just have to react due to some unknown obligation to yourself to enjoy and jump in on this massive spam. So as to understanding the spammer, we are just people, some of us dont andsometimes need the attention.

Well...maybe they just want some points and download the scans...for this website...in other places ...well i'm not so sure...maybe to make the thread longer or something? hahaha..well, i mean...who knows...right?
