I don´t know if there´s another topic about this new serie of .Hack. But I think this kind of anime need a post and some opinions of the users of this forum^^.
I only saw the two first chapters and I don´t know what to say: the .hack atmosphere is there, the characters are merely .Hack and the story, I don´t know...it seems so bizarre (about PKs and guilds and new strange characters in this The world second version).
The opening is great but I prefer the opening theme of Obsession in .Hack Sign and the ending is wonderful too, but...I like the ending of .hack sign more XDDD,but in the ending escene some screens give you information about what´s gonna happen in the series and you want to see more and more.
What do you think? Will this new anime be as good as .Hack Sign or .Hack Dusk?

I am watching it and its pretty interresting
although I cant realy say if its better than those other .hack series seeing this is my first .hack serie ever

so all the characters, intro and ending all seem normal to me

Personally, I like this "darker" setting about PKs and guilds, it can lead to a pretty interesting story if done properly =)

Will it be as good as .Hack//Sign? it has the potential to be, we still have a lot to see though =P

About .Hack//Dusk I feel this new series can surpass it easily, but that`s just my point of view because I like darker stories, and Dusk, while enjoyable and with some funny moments is just too "happy" for me

I've been watching the LuPerry translations and I must say it is rather good. It has the same slow pacing of .hack//Sign but the theme is darker and I like Haseo better than Tsukasa. The guilds really introduce a new element, but most of the mysteries seem easy to figure out. The evil Kite is probably something new created from the reconstructed data of the last world, and Haseo is an AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Data Anomaly). I figured that out from watching the .hack//G.U. trailer over at IGN.

The odd thing is that his class is multi-weapon but he has only done the twin blade thing. I want to see him pull out that chainsaw sword!

I just watched the first eps of .HACK//ROOTS and i think is a pretty good... but i still think the first .HACK was the best.

Shakugan no Shana is good! hope you like it. and uhh i can't really compare .hack with this one yet because it's still the introduction, after 2-3 more episodes i'll decide if this one is better.

I have seen the first ep of .Hack//Roots, and I have to say that I looks like it'll be pretty interesting, But I'm not too sure I like the main character...he's too apathetic. The "Dark Kite" (not sure what his name is) was really cool looking!! About the other .Hacks, I havent seen all of //Sign, so I cant really say much, but I really enjoyed //Dusk. It was fun and entertaining...Shugo oggling his sister's avatar was kinda creepy though...-_-;

I stil dont understand hack//sign . since wall though

Maybe people should really watch the whole series of hack//roots before comparing the two!?
Anyways yeah; i watched the first three episodes. I like it; OVAN AND HIS BIG GUN!

How can you possibly make a judgement on a series after seeing only 1 or 2 episodes...expecially with shows as slow paced as the .Hack shows...moving on...

I've watched all of the .Hack shows and while I was a little skeptical of .Hack//Roots due to .Hack//Dusk being knocked down to little more than a kids show....I'm very optimistic now. What I find most interesting is that all 3 of the TV shows start the main character as a newbie who is unsure of himself and what the world is about. It's amazing how differing personalities drive the same basic character shell. The first .Hack series had this guy who used the World as a shelter from real life...he was whiney, whimpy, and weak. .Hack//Dusk took a younger kid, but gave him enthusiasm and a drive to protect....this resulted in a stronger character overall. .Hack//Roots seems to me to be a lot darker, a little more mature, but with all the same elements I liked about the other .Hack series. The main character here does not seem to be weak, and potentially COULD have a strong drive if he finds a reason why he should play the game to begin with. This is a much more mature approach to the World than taken in the previous shows, so it ought to be interesting how this idea is taken and what mystery/problem will arise.

Of course, if you're an action buff and need something fast paced... the .Hack series will be the last animes you should ever watch :P

Im on eps. 3 of roots, it seems interesting, all the .hack animes are my favorite i was so happy when i heard a new ane was coming

Just saw the first episode and I am hooked! This is actually the first .hack series I have watched. Mabye I might watch the other series's later, but right now Im really into roots.

The series is good, my sister is downloading them, i really like the cat girl, i forgot her name, i'm only like episode 5 now, and the opening song is nice, the ending song i really didn't like

The best thing of .Hack//Roots is the quality of the video and image wow..... in high resolution is just awesome
the plot seems to be kind of slow develop like //SIGN but seems interesting
