Personally, I hate them. Thelittle peaks of panties in the occasional shot.

Well in some Animes like Goldenboy and Agent Aika Pantyshots looked hell good,... even in Street Fighter 2 the movie, Chun Li vs Vega was worth watching.
If the genre is the right one I don't bother with Pantyshots at all, I don't have anything against them?

It's really anime style dependant. Like, if I saw a panty shot in say, Ghost in the Shell, I'd just be like, wtf o_O Cyborgs don't need panties <_<;;
But if I saw a panty shot in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I'd be like, O_______O
And of course, Love Hina panty shots were just awesome xD

Sometimes (<10%) they are justified, but most of the time they seem to be there just to catch your atention.
Of course it depends on the genere of the animation.
The one I remember that was really absurd is full metal panic fumofu, damn, I'll regret for the rest of my life I wasted ~6hours watching that crap.

As long as they fit the plot and the characters wether they're clumsy or totally pervs it's sort of "ok" I don't like pantie shots but I admit that some of them made me laugh but if they're totally uncalled for its boring/repetitive and disgusting.
Some examples:
Good: Can't imagine Love hina without pantie shots... that would made look Keitaro a little less of a loser and a perv then he really is.
Bad: Ikkitousen just had panties all over the place! every time Sonsaku got into a cat fight she would en off with just bits of cloths covering the right places same goes for the one who lost... Im pretty sure they clothes are second handed!

For some perv i guess its absolutely an eye candy but it isnt that bad really i guess ^_^;; just depends on the anime plot, story etc.

It's good but sometimes editors simply break borders and all this efect is just getting hell iritating. I get a feeling than the plot is hading in god knows direction. Everything is good in some dozes. Makers shouldn't overdo with them because It's making all "image" in one piece of S_hit.

I think panty shots are kinda fun, sometimes...really they are!in some animes, depends on the genere...like Love Hina for example.. thats damn cool !
