As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Yeah the scan is too blurry and the extraction isnt that great, only to be magnified on the "ghost" image. The background is kinda bland containing only the cloud render in color. The font and its effects arent working too well with the image of Lacus, and neither is the border stuff on the top and bottom. And the bg with the swirl thing isnt that great and makes me think a toilet is flushing. Dont just use basic filters...

Yeah, you may want to work on some more complex backgrounds, plus this one does not match the stock too well. And yeah, the stock is pretty bad quality. Either us a higher quality one, or don't make this one so big. Also, try a different font, this one doesn't look too good with the stock.

The scan IS or at least WAS good quality... but wherever you get a scan, here or somewhere else, you almost always has to clean it, whatever the original quality was.
got three advices for u:
1: forget about the "blue white red" bar on the borders of the wall and for the font, it just looks like a wall for an american redneck now XD
2: as DivineLegend said, change the font of "lacus clyne" it doesn't match the wall, go for a gundam look, like the one you used for "gundam seed" XD keep it simple XD
3: change this "drop shadow" or "outer glow" effect you used for Lacus, its awfull i think. if you want to bring the character forward, go for a brighter glow or something similar.

for now, try to do that (if you want of course), i'll give you further advices after some progress in your wall.

You're not supposed to just slap uncleaned scans on wallpapers.. -_- The quality of ANY scan is never perfect and ready for walls. There's always a tad of cleaning involved. Use this tutorial if you don't know how:

http://www.imanimetions.net/tutorial/tutorial.php?view=clean

This site offers quality WALLPAPERS. As for scans, theyre too huge to not be pixelated. ^^;

Hmmm? I think it was quite nice~ though i don't really like the fonts >.<
and then, yea, the lacus shadow... it has a couple of clear flaws, especially around the hair XD (majority is hair anyway)
But other than that, it's very well-made.

Hiya lordyosho
Well there are a couple of things with this i think needs improving, the first is the extraction with I find has very many jagged edges, might be that you reized it up after extsraction making thoe jagged edges. The scan also seems very blurry to me, not at all in focus. The background is alos in need of some work, because it looks rather standard filters and such. Well I hope this helps a little

Cheers

I have checked the scan. It is of decent quality. The image is crisp and sharp. All that is required is to clean up the graininess and maybe some level adjustment. However, you downgraded the quality by leaps and bounds through application of excessive blur filtering and application of stroke effects.

And scans all require cleaning up depending on the paper quality the image was printed on (unless the scan source permits perfect image quality like pencil board or calendar scans). You can't escape from that reality.

Issues not yet brought up:
01. Anti-aliasing problems are clearly evident.
02. Diversification of style. You need to try out different wallpaper concepts. Your current wallpaper style is not so much different from your KG and Galaxy Angel wallpaper. Both employ the use of effects achievable through distort filters (polar coordinates and twirl).
03. Border design is bland, mismatched and generic. It does not break new design concepts. Never use emboss effects on borders as it only emphasises it's cheesiness.
