Konata...Otaku's most loved character
Konata is... someone I wouldn't like to know in real life, to be honest. In fact, if I knew someone like, I wouldn't hesitate to hit her in the face :(
Actually, I think Konata is more like a guy inside a girl's body, because it's hard for me to imagine a girl that would act like that (playing eroge games and all that). Also, she isn't really a good example to follow: irresponsible, avoids her duties everytime she can, her tastes are limited to anime, manga and videogames... ^^u She's a very boring (and highly overrated) character in my opinion and a very forced stereotype that, most of the times, you can't even believe.
I can believe girls like Kagami, Tsukasa, Miyuki or even Cousin Yui (I've known people who resemble them, honestly), but Konata... urh, meeting someone like her would be highly scary.
I must admit her design is very cute and I do really like her cute face... but out of that, no, nothing.

Yes of course konata is the most loved anime character! Not only the fact that she's cute but also her sense of humor rocks! And everyone loves how she get along with her friends especially kagami.

Probably because you don't see yourself in her! Most of the reason why people get to like her easily is because konata do the same thing as most otakus do! Yeah it's kinda crazy to have a friend like konata
but she sure can cheer you up when your down or sick, like what she did to kagami!

Konata does have that sort of personality. You either love her or hate her. I love her. She is that archetype that a slice of life anime needs. She spices things up because there is no overt plot to drive the anime.
I agree with Umbrellacorp. If you can't relate to her, then I guess people would dislike her. I love her though, since I love how she always references anime to everyday stuff, like the flags for dating sims. I know she's not a good example to follow, but me and my friends are so much like her that its sad, which makes us love her more. Though I don't play MMOs like her, the dating sims I do play do tend to be for boys (they really do have better stories and more character development than those for girls)

No, we aren't all like that. It's a cute little stereotype.
Well not all people do that, but some do. One of the things I love about Konata, is that she gets distracted by anime so easily. She tries to do homework, but takes a break and never goes back to homework. Which is exactly what I do 
So I end up staying up late, but I do finish my homework in the end, unlike Konata.

I never did homework much. I just knew the material for the tests.
I`m not the kind of fan who watches lots of moe animes, but when I first saw Konata, I could finallly relate and be identified with her.

Konata is the kind of character that everything should be encouraged. It's funny, freak and loves video games, especially the H games. Besides Aya Hirano gives voice. I agree Kyosuke her design is very cute and I do really like her cute face... like the other girls

But this is just my opinion, I think you have to have a decent knowledge of anime to understand some of the things she relates to, but still, i like her :3

Konata is cool, but I don't know... I still prefer the otakus in genshiken... any of them :P
