After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! When i was watching Lucky Star on YouTube, there were lots of people who said that they were exactly the same as Konata. And my friend said that she is also like Konata and started watching Haruhi and was always saying i love Haruhi. Does this mean that Konata has become her idol as an otaku or has she really started to like Haruhi that much? The main characters were commoners and Konata was especially characterized that way because the watchers are mostly otaku (opinion), and that will attract their attention. So i was wondering, had Lucky Star made Haruhi a little more popular among fans and otakus?

Well from what I have gathered, Lucky Star and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu are made by the same company and thats why they make so many references to it.

And personally it just makes me like lucky star even more :D

I read an article in an anime mag here in our country that anime like Death Note,Naruto and Bleach are anime that are accepted even by non-anime fans unlike animes like Air(?),Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. These anime are the anime that are loved by otakus(or rather these animes are the ones that attract otakus?). Well,regarding your question,maybe. But i think the people who watched Lucky Star before The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya can only answer that.

In some ways, I watched Lucky Star "before" I watched Haruhi. That was months after Lucky Star had finished airing, around January 2008. Then I heard from fans about all the Haruhi references, then I decided maybe I should start and finish Haruhi before continuing Lucky Star. Seeing some episode of Lucky Star, I'm now glad I decided to do that. (~_~) emoticon I can imagine how weird episode 15 would be to those who never watched Haruhi.

I agree the otaku cafe scene would hot have been as much fun not knowing what they were doing. Several things were taken straight out of Haruhi.

I'm pretty certain Deimos88 is right, it's a joke that Konata and Haruhi are both voiced by Aya Hirano, and that the two shows are produced by the same folks.

Yeah, it feels like haruhi in the new body. Oh, I watch Haruhi before Lucky Star, maybe 2 years ago and today i'm going to watch eps. 18...uhhh what a long time...-_-;; it's because in my town there's no anime rental, and I don't have enough money to buy it. So I borrowed it from my frien ( who is more otaku than me -_-; )

I watched Lucky Star after I saw Haruhi because I was trying to learn the dance and youtube likes to group the Hare Hare Yukai with the Lucky Star dance. I thought it was funny that an anime would take so much from a different anime, so I went and watched Lucky Star, too. It made me wonder which was more popular first-- I personally had never even heard of Lucky Star before Haruhi came to power.

I'm sure lucky star has made people go back and watch some haruhi, but idk if it would make someone who doesnt know about haruhi watch it... Then again lucky star makes so many random anime references u'd have to be some sort of otaku to even understand it (like me)
Seems like anyone who watched one, would of heard of the other too... or thats my view at least
