Recaps - The devil´s doing?

Just finished Gundam Seed Destiny ep 41, and to no suprise it is yet another recap...
I don´t know why but I hate recaps. If they make a series look like one big recap I tend to dislike it like there´s no tomorrow. Good examples of this: Berserk and Gungrave.
And multiple recaps in series is surely the devils doing. Otherwise noone could think up something so evil and disturbing. Sure it´s been a whole week since the last ep, but what the heck? I know of all this already. This is boring like hell.
And with long series, like Dragonball and Naruto, who have a short recap in every damn episode. Don´t people get pissed of at this?
I know I´m really getting angry and irritated when a new ep that I have longed for the whole week is a recap. Hopefully we´ll see more action next week in GSD. Or they make it like EP 40... so damn much talk everywhere in GSD =( It´s BORING!!
So, that´s my little personal rant about why recaps are bad and should be deleted from this earth surface. Does anyone agree/disagree with me?

Er... care to explain what you mean by "recap?" Fillers, maybe? o_o
If so, they are a sign that the serie has degraded to a level of a milking-cow and there is nothing new to expect. Usually meaning 'the end' for the serie and it's a pity too: there are too many of those animes that lack a proper ending...

Recaps are similiar to flashbacks. It's where short clips from previous episodes are stringed out together to make one full-length episode by itself. The purpose of recaps are mostly to refresh the viewer's memory of what has happened. However, if used too often, it can be damn irritating like the Kare Kano anime. You can have like 4 recap episodes in a row.
Gundam Seed really has a problem with recaps...

I don't really like recaps.. I think it would be enought when there is a short summary of what has happend before right at the start of each episode.
I think for an anime show like Gundam Seed/Destiny, with so much epis, one recap episode should be enough.. but I think there were like 3 or 4 already X_x

Recaps, I really hate them. Just when you are really into the anime you just want to continue on with the story. And all of a sudden there is a recap. God, I hate those recaps. I mean if you have watched the anime then you have to remember all the things that has happened in the anime.
Recaps are just a waste of my time and a waste of the animation studios's money!

Actually, wouldn't it be rather logical that they SAVE money instead of waste it? If a company has made a deal about producing 12 episodes, isn't it much easier just cut'n'paste pieces together, claim that it is a new episode, and move on to the next one? Much like with fillers: if fans buy it no matter what, why produce anything expensive when you can do it cheaply?
Recaps aren't always bad, especially if you didn't understand anything in the last episode (or if you weren't meant to.) :B
But some are just irritating. I remember that episode of Sailor Moon in the dub where "Who Do You Think You Are" played like.. almost all the way through the episode, non-stop. x_x

Gudam Seed 41 wasnt too bad, they at least ran the good clips over again. But yeah, I mostly hate recaps, they're just as bad as fillers imo.
I agree is Freedom! Phase 41 wasnt too bad... FATES was bad though... I just can't wait to see the next chapter! hehe I hope Kira kick Shinn's but... Anyway... Back on topic...
Recaps... I hate them... They are fine sometimes but not always... Some series can have at least 5 recaps! I don't really know why they need so much of those! With one in the half is more than enough!

I dont really see what the big deal is with recaps. sure, they maybe boring, but its not like your gonna die if you have to wait one more ep before you see what you wanna see. Ive heard lots of people complaining about ep41 of GSD because its a recap... its more annoying to read people's posts about how much of a waste a time the ep was.
but thats only my opinion... a break between action is good every now and then.. ah well.. it all depends on the show the recap is from.. GSD's recaps arent that bad...

Don't forget that anime is shown on the telly in Japan. People who didn't catch the first few episodes will have no freakin' idea as to the current plot and character status unless they've read the parent manga (if there is one, and even then, changes can happen).
So the recap episode is for them; its to allow more people to come in and appreciate the story.
Recap = (Higher Viewer Numbers + Low Production Costs) = All around win for the producers.
Its therefore not a surprise that Recap episodes sneak their way into production schedules rather commonly. They are only really boring for those of us who watch episodes in serial from discs or downloads.
So the recap episode is for them; its to allow more people to come in and appreciate the story.

Recaps aren't all that bad. I just watched Samurai Champloo's recap episode (The Disorder Diaries) on Adult Swim and thought it was pretty funny.
