This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

There are many samurai in manga and anime, but which one rules them all. Its hard to decide, but I can't see anyone matching up to Master Hiko in Samurai X. Who is the best in your book?

Definitly Mugen from Samurai Champloo. Really stylish his break-dance-sword style~
It's really different from the other Samurai's, so that's why I like his skills the most.

Master Hiko in Samurai X.

Please, for the love of God, use the correct name!!
"Rurouni Kenshin".
Not Samurai X, sounds so boring and doesn´t ring a bell to the story at all. How could Rurouni Kenshin translate into Samurai X?

BU I just scream!!

But anyway. I haven´t seen that many Samurais, Kyo from Samurai Deeper Kyo is immortal thanks to his Suzuku attack so. I think I´ll bet my vote on him.

I'd say Mugen aswell, his style is so unique and I haven't seen anyhing like it before.
Even though it's not realistic it just looks damn good when he does it ^^

ahhh... americanization... they didn't give a damn as long it sounds "nifty" to the general audience..

hm... who shall i choose... hiko, jin, or mugen..... damn.. that's a hard choice...

jin and mugen are tied...
hiko might actually beat either one of them...

using Samurai X helps people distinguish from the Rurouni Kenshin TV and the Samurai X OVAs, there is really nothing wrong with it. I think its a bit conceited to look down on others from using Americanized names.

Anyhoo..Kenshin would have to be my favorite Samurai, especially in Samurai X. He's awesome with a sword, and i think that the fights seem more realistic in Samurai X than the TV series. In the TV series there is a slight emphasis on special techniques and styles, on multiple characters, not quite in the same way as in Dragonball Z, but in a similar way, in that every swordsman in the Kenshin TV series seems to have a different school of swordsman ship (which is most likely how it was).

Hiko Seijuro is an amazing Samurai as well, especially since he was the one who taught Kenshin most of what he knew about sword fighting. He also says one of my favorite lines from Rurouni Kenshin: "No one should have to leave this world without knowing the taste of good sake." A classic line.

Doesn't ring a bell to the story at all? Samurai X is what started and ended Rurouni Kenshin... And Rurouni Kenshin doesn't translate to Samurai X... Rurouni translates to "wandering man". But even then the creator of RK created this word by combining "ruro" which means "wandering" and "uni" which means "man".

As for the original point of this thread, I'd say Saitou Hajime and Jin(Samurai Champloo). ^_^

I think the best (when I say the best I mean in samurai skills) samurai that I'v seen so far is Jubei from Ninja Scroll TV. But the collest are Mugen and Jin from Samurai Champlooo.

When the OVA was first named simply Rurouni Kenshin OVA? Then when it went to America it got the "Samurai X" title...
So since I´m used to the japanese names, these american names mess up my memory.

know the correct name and everyone knows what serie you are talking about. In this case both names are correct but still Rurouni Kenshin seems alot better. But that´s just me. To many bad memories of badly translated names and voices from TV-shows...

You know... some people actually debated whether or not kenshin was a true samurai... (samurai is a social class no?)

makes me wonder about mugen really...

since one uses a katana doesn't mean they can be samurai... (they can be ninjas..)

but since this topic is for comparing skill... i'm not saying anymore >_>
