what do you think of racist people?
Okay in school theres only 4 chinese people,2 indian, 3 african and 7 jamacans, out of 1,400 students, my area is pretty bad for culture stuff.
being a different race hasnt really bothered me untill i get in fights and people cant think of anymore insults so they call me chinky.i ask them why do they say it and they say its because i am the wrong race and colour...0.0,but i dont understand what makes them right?but it annoys me when people say things like that then say"i dont like racists".
so give me your veiws,is there really a wrong colour in this world?

Well, i think racistism only depends on people's views and experiences. if you have a bad experience with a certian race, then you probly will dislike all the people of that race. or stereotypes.

What's that? Since when is there supposed to be a good or bad colour? Let's think about it. Biologically, we were all born from the same cell. Then culturally, that "superior race" stuff has caused more death in human history than any natural cataclysm. Want my opinion about it? I think it's crap. Those guys aren't worth talking to. I mean, they talk about tolerance and stuff like that but why should they be the ones deciding whether you've got the right to exist or not? This choice is yours, so just ignore those kind of people. That's my opinion.

You should be proud to be in whatever race you're in, regardless of your skin colour! Yeah your town doesn't have a very good mix of culture, which can lead to the majority who aren't used to seeing races to discriminate, which is sad. I think that if people grow up around a diverese community, there's less racism, because they've grown up around so many different cultures. Stand up to those racist bullies! There is no superior race anymore, and if they bother you again make sure to tell a teacher or someone of authority what's going on. Those people are living too much in the past, and have to adapt with soceity today, otherwise racism will continue to live on..
It does't make sense. our sking color don't make any difference in what we are. and you should not care about those people who say that about you. if you think about that, this kinda racism exists for centurys... and we are in XXI century and these people continue with these thoughts? you can say that they really are pre-historic. the same goes to that people who don't let woman work, thinks that woman just have to stay home and take care of family's childs.. that's not right.
and what is what they call as the right race and color? it's this kinda people who are selfish.. and i can't stand this kidna people.
don't let they feel superior. ignore them.

Well, I could go on writing a million words on what I think about racism. But, I'm not. >_>
Racism is wrong. But we can't outlaw racism, just like we can't outlaw ignorance. Race is also a lot more than the color of you skin. The idea of what race is and how race affects a person's personality goes very far back in our history.. and still lives in modern society. There are a lot of subjects people don't feel comfortable about, and a lot of people seperate themselves from others for differences that not everyone else can understand. It's the same way with so many different things (wealth, gender, sexual orientation, social groups). The only way to cure these things would be to make everyone the same, which wouldn't be much fun at all..

Our opinions are not always taught. When we notice differences in people, you start to gain your idea of that person or people depending on what the difference is. I think all racism is a lack of perception or first view generalizations based on what people think of when they see differences. They are like our taste buds.. they develop based on what we learn tastes good. We can be taught what we should and shouldn’t eat.. but usually it’s self-development. So when something bother’s people, they take it out on whatever seems like it’d work (and we do this with all kinds of other things).. When I look at the world today.. I think racism has decreased a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever met a true racist.. just people who don’t like specific people in one race and don’t think about the other races because of the differences. I think most people are realizing as they see different people that the race as a whole isn’t all the same.

It's not the sole "priviledge" of the white to act racistically; all colours do it too. Blacks just have gotten some symbolical status due of the historical reasons (like slavery), but they are as apt to discriminate as everyone else. In the end, it's about tribalism and favouring those who you view more "as your own." Happen to be the only jap among yanks? Too bad. White among blacks or vice versa? Even worse. And it's not limited to skin-colour alone, because we all know that strange features and habits also spark discrimation equally as much.
So it boils down to tolerance, which -sadly- seems to be a rare trait among people. This is especially obvious on boards and chat-rooms, no? ;)

Soduruu, you realize you just committed a act of racism "It's the EGO of a white-man".
we are all guilty of racism and descrimination through ignorance, stereotyping and through emotion. i have seen too many people fighting racism turn into the monster they are fighting because anger
neobahamutxzero, brings up a good point, while as a society we can outlaw racism we cannot outlaw or eliminate individual opinions (as americans we have the right to our opinions). alot of times we cannot understand why a person has descriminating or racist views but we must understand our experiences in life are extremely limited and its possible out of thousands of people a person can keep running into bad experiences with a specific race, this generates these so obviously unfounded views. most people live in the immediate and because of this their limited experiences become the truth for them and their emotions involved (anger) cements their experiences in their memory, making it difficult to respond in any other way. by no means count this as a excuse for racism but rather a important detail when dealing with racist comments and behavoir.
truth is society still perpetuates racism, by dividing the races (black or white), by black history month and by affirmative action. in a interview Morgan Freeman (a african american) expressed the very same thing "by expressing the differences between humans we create a divison amoung humans" this creates tribal behavoir and allows christians to fight muslims, shiite to attack sunni and whites to attack blacks or vice versa. by treating people differently we create intollerance and resentment, its horrible but its human nature. one of the ten commandments tells us not to be envoius of your neighbors house, this basically means not to be jealous of those who have more then you or better things then you because god has given you everything you need. it is natural for humans to resent and be jealous of those who have privaleges we do not, its why people dislike the rich, or dislike authority and its also why i hear whites complain about affirmative action. i hear all too often about a white man who has 6 kids and a wife and badly needs a job he is applying for but its given to a single black man because the company is legally bound to hire a certain amount of minorities. affirmative action (even if neccesary) generates racism, even the fracking word minorities is a division and wrong in my opinion!
we do not need to seperate or divide ourselves further we need to bridge our differences and become just humans!
i am extremely sorry yun-ting for your experiences but please do not take these actions of a few as a reflection of the entire caucasion race. take it as it is, individual racist and intollerant views of a few, of those who did this to you because they are responsible for their actions alone.

I do not think that there is a wrong color!
However, I think that racism exist in every part of the world... unhappily of course!!
It is also something which is quite relative... racism does not concern only drak skin people in a white society or the like... it could be the contrary...
Let us jsut say that it is a matter of differences, hence, it may not be concerned only with skin color... it can even be related to practices, customs, and behaviors...
Too bad that tolerance is not that present in this world...

First, racist people in general really piss me off.
Racism has decreased in most areas, but there are still plenty of places that experience mild to extreme racial discrimination. I've had quite a few friends grow up in areas like that (and I'm only 23...so we're talking the decade).I think racism has decreased a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever met a true racist.. just people who don’t like specific people in one race and don’t think about the other races because of the differences. I think most people are realizing as they see different people that the race as a whole isn’t all the same.
EXACTLY. Especially when it comes to inter-racial relationships...there is a lot more discrimination towards whites who date blacks than the other way around. Some inter-racial discrimination stems more from significant cultural differences that are actually important issues (family structure, religion, values, traditions, etc). I would not consider this true racism. It's not the sole "priviledge" of the white to act racistically; all colours do it too.
I also agree with this, but it's also a bad thing to just completely ignore it. If racism isn't consciously addressed, then it can never really go away. But I think we go to the opposite extreme and focus so intently on it that it actually has the reverse effect of what we're trying to accomplish. For example...affirmative action. It's there to protect the rights of minorities, but it also gives an unfair advantage to them in some cases to the extent that a minority who is less qualified or able to perform a job ends up getting a job or accepted into a school while a much better white candidate is denied. Unfortunately, I don't see a perfect system. While making allowances and setting up protections to protect from discrimintation, we end up discriminating anyway.truth is society still perpetuates racism, by dividing the races (black or white), by black history month and by affirmative action. in a interview Morgan Freeman (a african american) expressed the very same thing "by expressing the differences between humans we create a divison amoung humans" this creates tribal behavoir and allows christians to fight muslims, shiite to attack sunni and whites to attack blacks or vice versa.
When I used to go to high school, there were about 800 students and 6 of us Asian kids and 1 African-Canadian. It's still no different. I teach and I'm the only visible minority teacher at the school and out of all the teachers in the city - there are only 5 Asians, around 10 African-Canadians and 2 South-East Asians. You'd think this means no visible minorities go into teaching where I live but that's not true - almost half the classes at the Faculty of Education at the University are filled with visible minorities. So there is a problem with systematic racisim in hiring. A lot of people think that living in Canada means that people are in general more accepting of different cultures but that's not true - it depends where you live in Canada. If you live in Vancouver or Toronto, then racism is less prevalent but beyond those few major cities - the racism and discrimination can be pretty bad.
Well being of different race means that you would have a different culture. Take Spanish for example (i'm spanish) and we eat this food with barbeques called 'blood sausages', which are sausages filled with blood. THEY TASTE YUMMY!
The reason of that is that when i tell this story to kids at school or at work, they see me as being different and wierd for eating these sausages (p.s. the sausages are cooked and the blood doesn't drip out when you cut the sausages, it looks more like chicken stuffing).
The point of this is that i believe that the other people are jealous of another cultures way of living etc. Like some people pay out the Chinese and Japanese...i beleive they are the greatest race because of the amount of discipline they show while during war. E.g. Kamikaze aeroplane fighters...to give up your life for your country, thats a big thing.
Do yous understand what i mean??

Yeah, I agree with pretty much everyone. Racism is, of course, wrong. I hate when people give dirty looks to other races. Makes me wanna knock em out.
