Ping Pong!
Heyo...
I play ping poing often and was just wondering if there are some people in AP who do. ^^
Or tennis, for that matter, since it's closely related...
Oh boy, now this reminds me of Prince of Tennis...ahaha
ok your opinion please! ^^

I played tennis some time ago... but I stopped lately...
But I'm planning to start again! It's quite nice!

At my work we have a ping pong table down stairs. I go and play on each of my breaks! I love it!! I don't get to play at home cause I'm not shelling out my cash for a table that would not even get used. None of my sisters (I have 5 sisters & NO brothers) like the game and my friends all live near where I work. So it would just go to waste at my house...
As for tennis I'm not that energetic so I'm not into all of the running involved in the large tennis court...

I don't play tennis (though I watch Prince of Tennis), but I DO play ping-pong. Not seriously, but with my cousins in my basement. We like to listen to eurobeat and talk while playing usually.

I have a ping pong table. It's so much fun when we throw pool parties because it's in the back patio, right next to our pool. x)
I never play it seriously. Just for fun and kicks. I do play badminton though... That's close enough to it, I think.

First I would like to state the fact that Tennis and Ping Pong are two very different sports, similar but the game play and style are way different. Tennis is more fun, it make you run around alot which is good for stamia/enuurance exercies. Okay back to Ping Pong, I have been playing Ping Pong for over 5 years now. Won a few compitetion(big one) but didn't want to take it any further than that(my coach said that I had the potential to go much further). Now I have a Ping Pong table at home and just playing it for fun.
It is really funny to see beginners play Ping Pong. They will both really close to the table and the just tap it back and forth thinking that they are really good. Which they will soon realize that is not how you play Ping Pong if you want to win, then again they are just playing it for fun. In Ping Pong, I categorize down to two different style of playing. Either you're a defender or attacker, though both can be played using the same style. This is what I meant.
Either you attack or you defend, that is just like any other sports but in this case you using skills/style. One is attacking with power/full power with spin(pro can make it spin...100% of the time) or defending with full power with spin, or Attacking with Super Spin(can only be done without using full power), the speed will be slow but the spin will make it really hard for the opponent to return the ball, or defending with Super spin(I like to call it Super spin because it spin like crazy).
This is the gameplay I usually see.
-Both players attacking each other using full power
-One player attacking using full power the other defend it with Super spin
- Vice Verse
That is the basic of the gameplay Ping Pong, in which I play. One little advice, it is best to stay far away from the table as you can not too close but far enough so when the opponent does a light hit you can run in straight away and far enough so when they Slam/Power attack it will bounce off the table and travel a slower speed that you eyes can follow. Note: Once the ball hit the table at a great speed it will slow down as it travel further away from the table. That is the basic that Ping Pong beginners can learn from.
And one more thing, Ping Pong is mostly wrist action, tennis is most the whole arm movement. Oh yeah, one more little thing. Work on your serve in Ping Pong, because a good serve/a serve is like 50% of the game.

Wow thanks y'all. ^^
iinjanai: Thanks for the clarification. ^^ I guess ping pong and tennis are different in their own ways, though I may say that they're like cousins, in a way. Yeah, it is funny watching newbies do ping pong (I've seen them, and been one). I find your facts true for the record. Though I've learned that there are different kinds of balls that can be played, like straight balls, curved balls, speed, etc.
Zer0SamuraiX: I wish you luck! ^^ Hope you find tennis good!
Byakuya-sama: Yay! Heh, I do play some tennis too! Though I'm the same as you, not played in a while. ^^ I have a ping pong table in my house, and my dad pulls me away to play with him. ^^
Gnat: Omgosh, I play some badminton too...gee, now that makes me think of ping pong, tennis, and badminton altogether...ahaha ^^ It IS fun playing with a lot of people!
Vagetogt: I also like tennis, though I'm a bit sucky over the whole movement and stamina thing. @_@ It's fun though it drains a lot after a LONG while.

I've only played Ping Pong a few times on a camping trip when I was in 6th grade. I played against my friend for so long that eventually we both got pretty decent. We could only play with each other because no one else was as good. >.> But I don't think I could ever play decently again since it's been years...
And about TeniPuri...I actually started playing tennis a few years ago because of that. I took a year's worth of tennis classes in college, had to stop for a semester, but am taking it again with my little sister. ^^ I love it!

Well, we have a ping-pong table on campus, but I have never tried to play... I guess that I will try to find someone to play with soon!
I do play pingpong or some call it as table tennis... but that was a long time ago i think i stop for about 5 years from now... i remember going to my friends house and we play ping pong for a whole day... good thing we were 6 players so we swap players, because playing this game is really tireing to move around so much and its a very fast phase game... i actually won a medal in out school competition back then... i do hope i can find time to play this game again... ^_^
We Chinese play Ping Pong best,but.....when I play it they always say "are you OK?"
