Hello ^^

I have been working on a megaman wallpaper (character: roll exe) that I want to submit just for animepaper. I have other wallpapers but sadly they do not concur with the quality or well-made wallpapers like here (seriously, the wallpapers here makes mines to look like garbage). I did this one to meet animepaper requirements for submittion and I wanted to know if it's ready ^^.

This first one was my first attempt:


I think that was not a very good wallpaper, plus the character is not in the best quality. I've worked again on it and I have read about some tutorials here in the forum by reading other member's improvements and visiting tutorial sites. I finally know how to clean up a pic or character when they are of low quality or a bit messy. It was very helpful and I had an idea for the background because, as you can see, it's a little simple.

With all that I had in mind to do, this is my final result of the wallpaper ^^:


I really liked my improvement from the first one and I like how it came out at the end. Clean and the background has more detail to look at like the net, sparkles, light effects, and the faded character ^^. It took me around 2 days to complete the final wallpaper (2 hours one day for the first attemtp, and 2 hours the second day for the final one)

So what do you think? Is this final result ready to submit? Comments and opinions are much appreciated ^_^.

Not bad not bad, the cleaning is good, not pixelated at all and I cant see much noise except in the yellow ring thing :P, anyway, the sparks looks nice but the background looks a bit plain and makes my eye go @@ with those heavy boxes, you might want to brush a clean/plain background instead of filling it with box pattern.

Also, i dont really like the idea of using the same scan but bigger size but fading a bit, to fill up spaces, you MIGHT want to move her a little more left ( my left, her right xD ) and put a slightly bigger text on the left.

Oh, and try not to use just black on signatures, even people can't see it because of the taskbar, it doesn't look impressive like that ~~

You really think the net effect (or the boxy little squares) looks bad? because I do like it a lot since megaman exe is based on computer/internet stuff and the net was an idea that went well with that. You said to move the character to the left? (as away from her or more close to her?) I'm a little confused on that part XD.

Okay, I'm going to do the text bigger ^^. As for the signature, I do agree with what you said and I'm going to fix that too. Thank you very much for your input! ^_^

Your ghost image is not the worst i've seen used. however, i'm not very sure if that'll cut it. first, you'll definitely need a better background. Second, you'll need to slow down on the sparkles. There are way too many and way too concentrated and repetitive.

the pink theme is fine. but think of a way to make it more intersting.

Thanks ^^. Although I don't know what background to use. Too many sparkles? I'll try and fix that. Guess my final wallpaper it's not ready yet :( but I appreciate your help :)

I would like to help you but the bg is really something to be thought up by the inventer/waller him/her self.
besides,,...i'm really bad with plain wall bg like this.
i can do abstract and scenery. but these sparkles, soft clouds, and crystal bg don't work for me

I dont like the glow on her, and the bg may be to simple, plus the ghost is kinda distracting. But I like the grid effect you have going.

=O nice cleaning work, congrats! butm you still have lots to do to your wall...
maybe you should vectorize the main pic, doesn't look too hard to do, is a very simple image, large areas with the same color....
the bg does look to plain, not the ghost image but what's behing it...

Thank you everyone for your comments. I did try all of you guys suggestions ^^.

Since most of you said that my background was simple, I re-do the wallpaper all over again because I tried to fix it in the current one but I messed up on it and didn't work. I though it would be better to start with a clean paper again although it took me hours to make it. The background it's kind of abstract and I used some brushes and the smudge tool to make the abstract look to it.

Well here's the new wallpaper:


Honestly, I like both wallpapers that I did, but this current one it's convincing me more.
What do you think? is it any better now? I got rid of the ghostly image so tell me if it looks better without it.

I think that you need to get rid of the squars and vector the image, then vector in some random objects and play with colors to get something of the hook

To blu3angl: Yes I have tried that tutorial, that's where I learned how to clean the character because it was in low quality. Maybe I should try saving the wallpaper with a higher KB (the KB it has right now its 354kb) I'll try and visit to your header.

To gat: Erm, how do you vector the image/character? I'm new to that ^^'

Well, I have bad news for the wallpaper I was planning to do (roll wallpaper) My computer had some problems that required to erase everything and my wallpaper with it. I could use the one I have uploaded before, but I just lost the feeling of doing it and the idea for what I wanted to do I don't remember it. Maybe later I'll have some ideas to finish it.

I've made another wallpaper though. It's from Somedays Dreamers.


I did have improve in my opinion, and I wanted to do a background with grass and all natural feeling of it. I did the whole background using brushes. What took me time in doing this was the leaves and a little bit the clouds. The leaves weren't coming out like I wanted, but it's pretty close what is now ^^. The clouds...well let's just say, it took me time to do as well.

So is this wallpaper ready to submit? I hope it is.
