Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

You come on here and ask that?... (what's the world coming to!?)...well basically, it's the comic strip version. Manga is usually what prompts the Anime release of series eg Love Hina, Negima, Ah! My goddess..etc.
That's my basic understanding of it but if anyone has a better explanation, go for it, i'm not stopping you.

I'm not 100% sure but manga is Japanese comics and anime is the television, ova, movie (otherwise animated version of manga).

Manga is broadly a Japanese comic. More narrowly, it is a comic published in bound form (i.e. how we buy them here). I forget what the term is for the serialized versions, but I know there's a different one. Self-published comics, whether serialized or bound, are generally just called doujinshi (or 'doujin').

Well, for the people who doesn't know, manga it's a word that is composed by two japanese words (i think) Man, that means "instead of one itself" (in spanish, a pesar de uno mismo) and Ga, image...

i think that manga has some connection with anime because the authors publicate his ideas or his...a...ejem..manga?cartoon? their main idea in manga mostly, because they don't have some anime network. Then it passes the fire test: if the people like it, then the networks start to get the license, and then the anime apperas!!

it's kinda an hypostesis, don't think this informaiton is very relliable

I think pretty much everyone here has covered it.

But, if you have questions about anything, Wikipedia is a pretty safe bet for most information. It has information on pretty much everything, so you can answer any other random questions you have, or find out more about manga.^^

Hope I've helped.^^

Series can be different in anime and manga. one of the biggest differences is that manga does not have filler arcs. in long anime series, like naruto, they may use a filler arc to buy time for the manga to move ahead. naruto's filler arc was 100 episodes, 2 years of crap. i find manga better but make your own choice.

Well if you want a whole essay on the definition of 'Manga' and its origins and other trivia information, try out wikipedia or answers.com (which uses wikipedia anyway)... loads of general information haha

Yeah, basically what other people have said. Manga is a graphic novel of a series (or similar) while anime is an animated version. Im suprised you didnt know that, but we all start out somewhere i guess.

Technically, a manga can have filler too. What's defined as "filler" in anime is just stuff not found in the manga, but even original series not based off of manga contain filler.(I.E. Beach episodes). If you notice, manga also contains such things. Random chapters that don't really mean anything to the plot itself, which are mostly found in comedies.

And, personally, I find drastic changes between the manga and anime to be far, far, far more annoying than 100 episodes of "filler" (Excel Saga comes to mind...)

Also, the worst of the all, are manga adaptions of original anime. Such as the FLCL, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, etc. manga.
