Touching Words

I was watching Akeelah & The Bee yesterday & it was really good. There was a phrase in it that really touched me:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I
to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
What does this mean to you?

Mm, to me it's about giving your all to help others, of conquering your own fears of feeling inadequate...You push your natural shyness aside and try to make a difference, not caring if you're humiliated or scorned, so long as you can help other people...Yeah, I like those. Thanks for sharing. :3
Abolutely nothing. Nothing means anything in itself. Something only has meaning once it is assigned one by someone.
Personally, I hate it. I am NOT a child of God and I refuse to believe so. I am NOT an incarnation of God and I refuse to believe so. I hate this poem because it makes assumptions about not only ME, but EVERYONE. Obviously the author was some sort of Christian that believes that everyone loves his God. Besides, the moral is unbelievably flawed: one man unafraid will NOT set another man free. There are many people in the world that are unafraid, I being one of them. I'd like to see how me lack of fear is going to instantly render the guy to me fearless.

Be meek, be kind to others, and fear nothing, because fear brings doubt and destroys ones faith.
