Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

New Year Resolutions

Has anyone ever really stuck out a resolution for a full year?
I think in modern society, there is a great lack of commitment at all levels of relationships, not just romance.
For example, commitment to self, commitment to responsibility, commitment to others, and so on. What do you think is a more heinous harm to yourself: making promises that will never really come to any fruition or not making any promises in the first place?

I think they are actually the same thing, in effect, because they are ways of an apathetic person. Moderation is the key. The mean between the extremes. We need to make promises to better our selves but we also need to make those promises realistic and challenging.

Whatever it takes, I hope you are willing to take the chance...the chance to commit and better yourself.

I never really make any, but if I did it would probably be to care even less about how I do in school, because no matter how good I do my mom is never happy lol

I'm sorry to say but i really fill stupid making any promises or plans whatsoever..Life is what you make of it and if you start making promises of what you're willing do to in the future and not MAKING the future instead then i don't see the reasons in such. Life is NOW, not tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow or a year after it, if you're willing to do something ACT..i hate stupid promises of, i'm gonna be better, because they usually only stay promises. Try for once living without planning, life is short as it is..You know this reminds me a phrase the main character of "the catcher in the rye" says in the end of the book on the question of the phsycoanalysist when he asks him, what his plans are for the future.
He says : "it's sucha stupid question i sware, how do you know what you're gonna do untill you actually do it?" :)

I kindda promise to myself that this year I'm going to work out a lot and practice like hell the electric guitar.

I haven't work out yet but I'm already practicing the guitar, so I kinnda started well.

In my opinion it's positive to have this kind of goals because that makes you try harder to be better in whatever you want

Well, each year I set myself some goals.
Even though they're mostly same each year. For this year:

*Pass the 9th grade, pass preliminary tests to get into a high school.
*At least B in all national exams.
*Driver's license maybe?
*Car maybe?
*Do my best.

Of course there are some other random goals, but these are my main goals.

Simple thing. If you wait till New Years to make a major commitment, chances is that it just NOT gonna happen. If you need to do something, better to start right that minute. Otherwise it's wise to make resolutions toward the minor stuff.

I don't set goals for myself much because i know i will probably either forget or not stick to them. The only resolution that i will make is that i want to be happy... Which i always am -_-"... Not much of a resolution...

I set one over 5 years ago, and that was my last one because it changed the way i live for the better.
and it was.....to stop stealing. simple as that, and if i kept going down that road, id probably be in jail or dead.

I don't make any resolutions, but maybe I should. It's because I don't that I never make any significant progress in life. Hmm, lets start with LESS INTERNET! That's almost impossible though..

I don't really make promises for the new year. I know I won't keep them. I don't really care enough to remember something that won't matter to me once I have a decent amount of food in my stomach. Heh.

I think people can't fulfill their goals because they set unrealistic goals, like I have to lose 20 pounds in a week.

One thing I learned in setting goals is you have weight them. For example, if think you have to sleep more, you have see if you can really sacrifice some things in order to fulfill your goal. Sleeping more means sleeping early, so what if you scheduled to sleep at 9:00 pm but you favorite tv shows starts at the same time, can you make that sacrifice? If not, you will just break your promise to yourself.

And if its perfectly normal if there are times when you have to break your schedule, we are not perfect. Just be sure you will make up for it next time.

I am an organizeed person, so I always have list of things to do. Sometimes its really hard to follow your plans, so what I am doing, is that I will think of the consequences I will face if i will not do it. So i will feel bad about what will happen and will end up doing my plans. ;)

Or sometimes, I will act like I am two different person arguing about what will i do. And of course I always end up doing the right thing ;)

I never really made one. Whoever came up with the idea? I think its dumb because no one is really going to follow it well, you know. XD If I did pick one it'd be to get off my lazy butt but I've already gradually started doing that so it won't be that. I have no idea. I'm indicisve so it makes it even harder to choose something.

Blah!

I set goals for myself, yeah. Why not? Give yourself a challenge.
