After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

If there's one thing I absolutely hate more than viruses in the computerized world is spyware/malware. Cause in a sense they are 'legal' viruses that companies throw to you to keep a record and be capable of diverting your internet flow/throwing advertisements/installing that company's products, etc...

The issue is anti-virus programs such as Eset Nod32 or Kaspersky sometimes don't recognize spywares since they're not exactly programmed like a virus, thus they enter your system and create havoc. I was recently infested with a spyware that leeched out my internet speed, redirected me to this blasted page and turned my 20 latency score up to 9500!

The pain was the removal, apart from un-installing the programs this spyware put in, I had to search the system registry and eliminate all trace of it, also had to do a system restore for my pc to be back up and functioning. Ah whatever, I'm gonna format soon anyways, I rather have the thing clean once again.

So, any of you had unpleasant experiences with these blasted things?

Viruses transmit themselves to other computers directly. Spyware / adware / malware are not classed as viruses due to this distinction. These pests are not "legal viruses" in any sense. They are simply pests. Less melodrama please.

Correct, and anyways there is nothing called a legal virus. If there was people would be filing suites against companies.

That's what you get for looking for porn. and also get a good anti-spyware. there are two good ones that are completely free Spybot and AdAware a simple google search should yield good results.

If you get fed up with viruses and spyware just reformat your system. Back up all your files (movies, pictures, music, homework essays and whatnot) and just re-install windows. That's the easiest and safest way out because you know there's gonna be nothing left. I'm running a ton of anti-spyware (CounterSpy, SpyBot Search & Destroy, AdAware, PestPatrol, Spyware Blaster) on my computer and avast as antivirus. I rarely ever get anything so devastating as to have a program take control over my computer but yes I've had it happen before and my answer to that was reformat. And yeah, stay away from porn, but even that's sometimes not enough. There're a few MSN viruses going around where your friend will send you a message to accept a .zip (or was it a .rar file? Can't remember), and the message is fixed so he'll send it to you probably once a day. I once got a virus just like that, where the message was "Is this really you?" followed by a link with your email address as part of the URL, and I clicked on it and all hell broke loose...but a reformat fixed it all.

Honestly, if you know what you're doing, you generally won't pick up any sort of malware/viruses at all, even without an antivirus program. Using XP sp3, I actually abhor using any antivirus programs because they suck up so much system resources that the performance hits and inconvenience of scanning every new file might as well make some of the more invasive antivirus program, well, malware.

A simple system restore (if you're running Windows) to an earlier, clean state will get rid of just about any problem.

This is why I no longer use Windows on my PCs anymore. I rarely use my PC for gaming anyways so I'm on Ubuntu Linux. ^^

LOL you know... malware/spyware is noting compared to a worm. If I ever get one of those its an instant reformat for me. I don't even bother trying to remove it. Too much of a pain in the ass and a waste of time to try.
There's a pretty easy way to solve the problem... Trash Windows and go Linux.

With modern OS's and browsers, getting malware is inexcusable and completely a case of PEBKAC. I stopped using anti-malware software with Vista around the middle of last year because it was just doing nothing. No point in having something that big running in the background if it's doing no good.

Some of the guys at the office have been hit by some hard spyware and malware before, I had to redo their systems a couple of times such a pain in the butt! The problem as Internet Explorer since that was their browser of choice for some reason not clear to me?

I never have that issue since I just use Firefox and not useless Internet Explorer and also I have avast installed, nothing more and I never have problems myself with spyware or malware.

So I have forced them to use Firefox now and since then have only had minor issues which I managed to clear up without to much of a hassle.

I was doing some stuff for a 'do these surveys/offers for $' site, and one was to download an installation file for Zango and that would be all you had to do. LITTLE DID I KNOW! that it would logically destroy parts of Window's system files on my main HDD as soon as it finished downloading. Ended up having to move hardware around, format, and restore everything. It also took my second RAM slot with it so I'm neutered to a single slot. :=[ emoticon

Good news though. Was able to get some better parts for my computer along with replacements.|(n_n)| emoticon

I was very irritated with those things, but as the time goes, I start to be able to anticipate them. And now, I almost can be said having a virus free computer. I think if you can control your net-surfing and can differ whether the site is safe or not, you can avoid those threats.

For almost 3 years, I've never used any antivirus, and looks like my computer never get any problem related to viruses, spywares, or malwares. And my conclusion, most viruses I've found are originated from porn sites, ads, warez, and offers links(like free ringtones, etc).
