to be (the ruler of earth) or not to be?
Well,as I have already written-
if someone would have given you the option to rule earth would you agree?

Ehh.. Not really.
Too hard a job really. Plus, you can guarantee multiple assassination attempts on your life daily.

I think that depends on the extent of your powers to rule the earth. I mean it's quite possible to have some governing body that no one listens to - that's pretty much the U.N. right there. In which case being the ruler of the earth would be a worthless prestige job. But if you could rule with absolute authority and have people listen to you that might be different.
If that were the case, then why not? You could end most wars. End starvation and clean up the planet enviormentally, etc. And it's not like you have to stop what you're doing now. I mean as the ruler of the earth you could keep going to school or going to work or whatever. My first projects would be a moon base, mining the asteroid belt, thermonuclear power, and construction of airships. Aside from that I doubt I'd even do much to the world since it has to be people that decide their destiny in the long run. You will die eventually right? So everything you set strait may only be temporary unless you fix the underling problems as well.

It's interesting to see some peoples' idealistic views on the ways of life and government.
There's just no way you'd have the power to execute and enforce laws worldwide. You'd need an army and executive force of unheard of proportions.
Not only that, but you actually think it'll be that easy to govern BILLIONS of people all with different ideals, ethics, morals, culture, ethnicity, religions, and ect.?
Sure being the ruler of some lala world would be pretty sweet, but in reality it's just not feasible nor possible in my opinion.
There will always be people who will not cooperate with your rules and ways of thought. Could you imagine terrorists on a worldwide scale? They would be impossible to stop.
War, crime, and terrorism will be almost guaranteed.
It was hard enough to remove most of the sovereignty from states back in the day to create a national government. =P

The bad thing is, there are too many people in the world that think they rule the world already. Adding me wouldn't help any. :)
But if I could be the surpreme dictator of the entire planet, and all humans would have to obey my words without question, first and foremost would be the elimination of all Religions, then the law that would restrict anyone to claim to be a Race. All humans would be humans. Heh...nice pipe dream ne?

Only if i would be in the shadows and all things were delagated to others , basicly the world as it is now except i have the ability to change things, but wouldn't want it known to other peopel since i really don't want to be famous nor to i want to have to manage everything since thats alot of work and im lazy
No.......too much responsibility. Besides I'd get pretty bored. And if something bad happens I get blamed for it, so.........no.

Anyway, I wouldn't begin to know what to do with that kind of power. It still wouldn't be enough to end the conflicts in say, the middle east. The conflict is too deeply rooted into the fabric of society for the hate to just disappear. That puts world peace out of reach (still). But whatever, I might take the job if I had some help from trustworthy people.

Not me. I just want to be rich and enjoy life. Being the ruler means that you have to responsibility and your life will simply revolve around your "work".
Oh sure, Yes of course. However, the reasons aren't being the ruler itself but rather I'd have an ulterior motive - that being PRODUCTION OF HIGH-QUALITY ANIME... then for all the other responsibilities I would have to delegate it to the current world positiosn therefore the only difference would be mass production of high quality anime !
Nope. Definitely not me. But if I were to look for someone to fit that rule, that person has to be knowledgeable in world affairs or how to manage the world and has to have the right kind of power to support his/her authority.
No thanks, having people pester me with the whole worlds problems and being responsible for everthing would suck, you'd never have a moments peace it would wreck my head, as for nominating some one, not to sure, that would time and consideration

I would rule with an iron fist to produce the greatest video game production onset that has ever been seen. the entire world would be one video game company, a synthesis of all old ones added with new, great talent. it would be a video game utopia. a total failure in rule, law, organization, order, but a total success in video game advancement. lol.

I don't see it as a moment of joy, and that I could be doing all I want because I'm a ruler!
For me, being ruler is a responsability instead of a privilege! Do you imagine that you will have on your conscience the responsability of the impacts of your decisions related to your citizens actions... that's too much... I would die before time...
