My manga collection consists of a variety of all three which is why I like all three.

Most definitly VIZ, i mean there killing it japan with the sales and even in america there the only ones to ever produce a monthly anthology of manga compilations, there basically the reason why i started reading manga. GO BLEACH AND NARUTO AND ONE PIECE, THE ANIME KING TRIAD, and they just so happen to be all lisenced under viz XD
I don't have anything translated by Del Rey, so I'll go with Tokyopop, since their translations are superb when compared to VIZ, even if VIZ serialised Shaman King, One Piece, Bleach, D.Gray-man, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh! or whatever. VIZ just butchers the manga and it's really annoying.
In volume 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh!, they didn't call it Duel Monsters but translated it as Magic and Wizards! And they tend to censor stuff, too. In Prince of Tennis volume 10, they changed Ryoma's technique from Drive B to Drive V! And they changed the way the characters refer to each other, they removed the honorifics and the characters are on first name basis.

Most of my favorite manga comes from Viz, so I would have to say they are my favorite. I have a few Tokyo Pop manga too, but none of the series that I am currently collecting are from them, except GTO, and I'm stalled on that one.
Dark Horse Comics flips virtually everthing they have, which sucks, and I hate them because they still haven't released Ghost In The Shell 1.5 in tankoubon form yet (BASTARDS!). Vertical also flips everything, but they put out some excellent titles.
ADV Manga has some good titles, but they NEVER finish anything, except Cromartie High. Why oh why can't they just sell off Gunslinger Girl so somebody can finish it?!
Del Rey mostly has nothing that interests me, but I love Genshiken and Mushishi. I also might get Pumpkin Scissors when it comes out.
DMP has Trigun & Berserk.
CMX doesn't have anything I like, and I have only a few books from CPM. Most of the rest of the companies I have nothing from.
RIP: Raijin Comics

I don't like any of them cus they think they are very manga-ish and japanese-ish but really they're americans and they made some of the american comics and claimed that they are 'mangas' but really manga is japanese comic and japanese society.
I like them all for different reasons.
Tokyopop brought a lot of manga to the United States that otherwise wouldn't be here.
Their translation quality's fair, it consists of numerous grammatical and spelling errors.
Some of their manga are without honorifics, too, which for me is a huge downfall.
Unlike Del Rey, Tokyopop takes out a lot of the hints to Japanese culture.
I feel like they're "Amercanizing" their manga.
I also don't really like how Tokyopop changes the titles drastically (Karin was turned to Chbi Vampire) and cover art is usually changed more so than other publishers.
I really like Del Rey, but that's because they licensed such titles as TSUBASA: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, xxxHOLiC, and Perfect Girl Evolution.
I love their translations, and they leave the honorifics, Japanese culture, and original jokes.
Having the Translation notes in the back is a huge bonus for me.
Viz is okay. Some of their manga pages have panels cut off partially which I don't like.
They take out some of the honorifics, too. Gin Tama and Fullmetal Alchemist seem stripped of honorifics for one.
I find the anime they license to be much more note-worthy than their manga.

I have manga from just about every english publisher. Currently I probably have the most from Del Ray and Tokyopop. Tokyopop used to be pretty bad with their translations but lately they've gotten much better. Del Ray has been consistently good from the start with the exception of their binding being complete crap for a few months but they've fixed that. I'd say ADV is probably the worst manga publisher in the US for the fact that they like to drop series and completely forget that they've ever existed. Thank goodness it looks like they are going to continue to publish Yotsuba&!
I usualy get tokyopop mangas since they have a better translation. viz is okai and most of the mangas i read is lincensed by viz so i have no choice to get themm.. but other than that i would pick tokyopop mangas. and i dont really know what delrey is or what company is it.

Isin't berserk with darkhorse?
well in any case all three companies aren't perfect ,but they have a few good titles here and there. i can't exactly pick a favorite form those three either but if i had to go with one of them it'd probably be VIZ, they keep their mangas coming in fast and they did some really good work on some i just hope shakugan no shana is good.
Hhmm as the topic of Viz not keeping the cultural side of the manga, recently I've been reading this ShojoBeat manga (a branch from Viz similar to their Shonen Jump) at the back there are some explanation to various of things that was happening in the manga. So not sure if they do that to all their manga now or not, however I found Viz to be good at least with those cultural notes at the back of the manga I'm reading. Wonder if they have it too for other mangas? Oh welliez

I collect from all of them, but I have noticed that most of all the good titles are coming from Viz and DelRey. DelRey also has more expensive-looking titles, while Viz makes some of the best manga's more affordable. Oh yeah, that's another noteworthy piece of info...DelRey costs more, while viz is by far more dependable. Like I said previously, however, DelRey puts more effort into their titles, so I guess it would cost more in the end. I can't blame them for that.
By far, Viz and DelRey have the best collection, and both have their good points, ne?

I think Del Rey is the most loyal to the original, and they actually started the trend of leaving honorifics that Tokyopop picked up on in Loveless and other titles. Viz is decent too, but Tokyopop is a bit too liberal with some translations, plus I don't like the fact that they are releasing more American titles that I don't think count as manga.
I definately prefer DelRey over the other two due to their strive to make the translations as close to the original as possible but still keep the jokes and quirks intact.
