This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

It's Toaru Majutsu no Index. It's pretty popular,it's just airing now, and it's only had 13 episodes come out and it already has 4 wallpapers.

What language do you read your manga in? Do you read Japanese fluently (or well enough to get by) or buy Japanese manga and get text translations? Or do you like scanlations and/or licensed manga?

I myself like getting Japanese manga as there's way more selection (obviously). I can understand a lot of it, but for everything else, there's dictionaries and translations. Plus, it's a lot cheaper to buy the manga in the original language, usually. Although, I do like reading the manga in English, it's just generally not my top choice.

I prefer English

Because:

1. for me buying manga in English is cheaper
2. I don't know how to read Japanese
3. I don't like to open the dictionary and translate

If I do know how to read japanese, yes I will buy in Japanese because there are more Yaoi manga in Japanese.

But for now, English is good

The language that I understand... so english...

But I have 6 japanese manga books... I try to learn japanese even if I don't have high expectations.
But I've bougth the first cause the french editor has stopped its edition and the others because I don't like the editor that's likely to edit it (because of the font, the size and quality of paper).

I know how to read Japanese for the most part, but slang is really hard. I would rather read scanlated manga because at least I don't have to figure out the slangs myself. Hahaha. XD Note that I said scanlated because published mangas usually have *really* bad translations or censors a ton of language or art. Eeeks! >_<

I prefer English manga, I can read some Japanese but not fluently enough to get through a whole book. -_- It's sad.

English, I couldn't get them in Japanese if I wanted to anyway, they don't sell them in Ohio. I read library manga because it's free and I can't download stuff thanks to dial-up. That and when I look at Japanese, I think, "hmm, I don't want to lear that."
