Manga or Anime?
I prefer manga, only because the story tends to have more, and tends to really -show- more. I really get into manga, unlike anime, which I usually forget to download newer episodes..
I like anime because I hate making about a voice, but I also perfer manga because you get the complete story. Anime is what I would choose over manga if I have money to spend, though.

I think that the two are incomparable in most cases. Sometimes, it's really enhancing to an anime's plot to read the manga...manga usually goes into more depth, but there's no replacement for the visual stimulation that anime provides.

Can you take your TV into the bathroom when you nature calls? :hehe:
nah, seriously, manga and anime are way too different. Some animes in the past may suck when compared to their manga counterparts (sailor moon maybe, or Magic knight rayearth) but nowadays the anime companies know that it's not enough to use "filler episodes" anymore, they try their best to remain faithful to the manga, or even try to make it even better (midori no hibi was really good until chapter 8, then they just forced the ending).
It is also true that anime can have music, movement and all that. it is a fact that some anime are nothing without their music (samurai champloo, cowboy bebop).
Manga has more detail in the art section. a lot of mangas need a redesign to adapt it to anime standars, thus are simpler and a lot of accesories or style are lost (or look what happened with sailor moon O_O). Also the story can have more daring themes, like erotica or kinky jokes, and can use more cruel twists in the storyline (important characters can die).
Personally i always try to read the manga and the anime, they can have things the other doesn't; except if the manga is based on the anime (the normal way is the other way round), then the manga is done most likely to promote the anime, so it may lack in quality.

Sometimes the manga is better than the anime, sometimes it's the opposite. Or it could be that both are identical. See Gunslinger girls, the manga is exactly the same as the anime.
But for Black Cat, it's totaly different! And it's good !

I love mangas better because they have more complete story than an animes, for example Video girl Ai manga is much longer than the anime. Animes are usually series so they are have the same type of story for every epsode. Anyway, i love mangas because they're cheaper to buy and faster to download.

I would say manga because it contains the whole story while the anime might take some out. Sometimes the anime can screw up the manga too >_<

Well ... depends... sometimes i like the Anime more then the Manga but sometimes not..
It is right the story is more detailed in the Mangas as in the Anime but the Anime is more for your eyes and its realy cool if you see an Charakter that you like from a Manga moving around in the Anime whit great voice actors and stuff.
Well i prefer Anime more then Manga but just a tiny little more ;P

hehehe you realy know what i'm thinking ^^##
I like to read or watch whichever came first. Eg. Evangelion-watch Ranma 1/2-read. That way I can see the creator's original story before other people come in and decide which parts to cut and which parts to extend. And which parts to screw up on.

I prefer Anime, in german if possible
I'd say they both have their good points and bad points. Manga tells a more complete story and is usually more detailed and no fillers at all. An anime has color, sound, and detailed visual effects that appeal to the other sense that just the eyes. If done correctly, an anime can be way better than a manga even if the anime doesn't tell every tid bit of the story.
There are numerous of examples of these two aspects. A great manga but an okay anime could be Naruto. Naruto's manga has a good story, and is way better in terms of story progression. The Naruto anime itself is really good. Up until it has fillers. Then even more fillers. Then more fillers to the point where you go insane. It's to the point where the flashbacks and fillers are killing the storyline.
An example of a great manga and a great anime could be Azumanga Diaoh. Not everyone likes this series, I know, but the anime really hold true to the manga and provides a good comic relief. Much in the same way the manga did.
